Description:

Yeah, this is a group where I thought we could post
screenshots of our desktops. Why? well, I like looking
at other ppl's desktops and configurations, they give me
Ideas I can't possibly have with my current IQ.

So please! if you have a very nice desktop, don't be shy,
put it up here!

please use bbcode when u post, makes it easier for
other users to view ur screenshot, just put "[url]" in
front of the link and "[/url]" after... then it will look
like this http://www.link.to.ur.amazing.screenshot.html
Thank u for ur consideration!

services one can use to upload pics and then share the link:

 The definite theme for Kubuntu.

Plasma theme: Helium.
Widget theme: Bespin (with my own color scheme based on Whitewater)
Icon theme: Faenza (KDE variant)
Cheap Copy of Unity™ icon bar: The Icon Tasks plasmoid.
Menu: XBar, from Bespin. You can use the real DBus Menu you have, for better effect.
Presence: KDE Telepathy Integration. If you tuck that into the Pangolin, you'll get thousands of Internets.
Distro: Chakra Linux (sorry ;))

You need this to lessen the curve between Unity and KDE. You won't regret it!

I like the hues of that backdrop for KDE. Chakra seems unusual.

I'm using GNOME 3 aswell. Have attached couple screenshots.

I think the best place to get good gnome shell themes is deviant art.

Furthermore, I do love those "scrot 3, 2, 1..." screenshots. Wish I could keep it real like that!

http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/2585/screenshotxw.png

that's how my desktop has looked since the days of... i think KDE 4.2

there used to be this plasmoid that allows a normal application window to be shoved into it and act like a widget, its compilation broke with later builds of KDE, and i realized i can do the same with KDE settings itself.

as you can see from konsole and amsn, i use special window setings for both, that includes a forced size, forced location, no border and stuff, always "keep below", skip pager, skip task manager and exist on all 4 desktops. so technically, they look and feel just like plasmoids :D

i like my 2 row system tray, but force task manager to stay at one row.

fonts forced at 96 DPI

inactive windows set to be translucent
