Description:

TaskBar with groupping and group manipulation.

... Many thanks to Nik Skavinsky ...

##### Launchers #####
You can add new launcher by DnD or launch app and press "+" button (preferred) in popup of app.
Button with gears can be used to open new window of app.
Known restrictions:
- Unable to use launchers for GNUStep
- Unable to use launchers for OOo writer, calc, draw, etc
- Only apps from menu can be added
- Some applications written in script languages like python recognized not correctly (because their author forgot to setup name for application)

To pin/unpin launcher you need to open preferences dialog and set 'Attach/Detach' action for group

- Close

right click:

Group button:

middle click:
- close group of windows

right click:

Compiz
To use compiz effects you need to activate them in compiz settings manager first.

sudo ln -s /usr/lib/dockbar/dockbar.py /usr/bin/dockbar.py

TESTED on Ubuntu 10.04 with compiz and metacity

You can run it in window:
dockbar.py run-in-window

==== AWN applet ====

Very, very, nice indeed! It makes for a very simple and uncluttered panel. Voted up!

 minimize animation fix

by Vermind on: Mar 2 2009

Score 50%

The minimize animation does not target the right place with dockbar. To make it work, set_icon_geometry() should be called on all windows, using the icon's absolute location and size as parameters.
This could be done with (pseudocode):

x, y = groupbutton.get_origin()
a = groupbutton.get_allocation()
x += a.x
y += a.y
window.set_icon_geometry(x, y, a.width, a.height)

 Beautiful ! But...

Hi, I'd suggest a few things to make this wonderful applet even better

- If clicking on a icon of an app opened on a virtual desktop different from the actual one, should move to the correct virtual desktop, rather tham move the app on the current one and minimize it.
If the app is on the same virual desktop than user is on, then app should be minimized

- a way to hide specific applications (example: skype places an icon in the notification area, and we end with a double icon - notification area and dockbar - which is plain space waste.

Thanks for reading and for your great work !

Is it just me, or nautilus windows don't appear on the dockbar?

By the way, cool app.

dockbar.py run-in-window

no, sorry, I take it back. it doesn't work fine....
it was just one window, when I closed it, nautilus never appeared again.

this is what it says when "dockbar.py run-in-window":
Quote:
[rocker@rock-city ~]$ dockbar.py run-in-window
dockbar init
1
1
1
1
40
40
40
40

that until I closed it.
However, in window, dockbar did showed nautilus, but not as an applet in panel.
