GNOME Icon Theme

Updated:  Oct 11 2008

Description:

This theme was created by merging the black-white icon set and the Red Icon theme set. I wanted to be able to use the Red Icon set for Gnome but it wasn't packaged as a theme. I recolored many of the Black-White icons and inserted the Red Icons where appropriate. If you download this theme and find any problems please let me know so I can try to rectify them.

To install, extract the .zip archive. Open the folder and then drag and drop the contained .tar.gz archive into Gnome's Themes and Preferences.

If you are going to vote down the please leave a comment explaining why.

Changelog:

Download link fixed. Sorry about that.

 Just some icons not ok

by flows on: Oct 16 2008

Score 50%

Very nice one, I use it with red wallpapers.
However, with Ubuntu 8.04 some icons don't work properly (Gnome 2.24, I think).
The deskbar icon isn't replaced in the panel, document-properties is too big (have to manually resize it to 128x128 from 256x256) and firefox programm in the window list isn't changed either.

However, still a very nice on.

Could you get me a screen shot of what you are talking about? I would like to try to fix these problems.

Not exactly about the problems I have described (fixed them for it was so annyoing), but in the ubuntu add/remove programe, there's a similar one: the internet icon.
I'll send you a screen.

I am using Avant windows navigator and for some reason the icons did not change when i installed the theme, also of the icon on the place drop down menu are silver and not black-red i dont know if that was intentional or not.

 Gnome/Ubuntu Icon

by Alyn on: Apr 15 2009

Excellent set, really nice, my only question is, I would prefer to keep my Ubuntu circle logo as the "start"/gnome menu button instead of using the gnome foot logo. How can I change this?

Otherwise, great work, I love the set.
