Description:

This iconset won't ever have a massive modification.
All the work I am doing on it right now is just trying to push it to perfection, making small changes release after release [you can see what's happening in the changelog below], so please feel free to report any bug you experience, but first of all ensure you've read the instructions file ;)

Now.. the description can begin...

At first I collaborated with crhispy, releasing different coloured versions of his worderful port "Oxygen-Refit".
Now I decided to create a fork of his porting, integrating some icons I caught around the web, and some others I edited/created by myself.

Please feel free to report and bug within the comments.

A great big thank for you all.

UPDATE

Archlinux users can install this iconset from the AUR repository, just typing:

yaourt -S hydroxygen-iconset

Hydroxygen are also have been included within the GNU/Linux Paldo official repos.
Many thanks to kim88.

 a minor improvement

hi,i really like this iconset, best of all i have ever seen.i am using it presently.but, would you mind making a version that has got CFL bulbs instead of incandescent bulb for notification etc.,yeah, this may sound a bit humourous, but it would make the system look more modern i beleive.one more thing, please improve the computer icon, make it glossier, shinier and the best.
this iconset is the best, and what i suggest,i beleive will make it even better.
a merry Christmas to you,and please do reply.once again,a job really really well done!

I didn't understand what you mean with "CFL bulb", could you please be more specific?
About the computer icon... I will work on it ;)
Always check the changelog.

He means compact fluourescent bulbs.

If you decide to add them, PLEASE leave incandescent bulbs as an option, don't remove them. I would really hate to have CFL icons, no matter how trendy CFLs may be.

 Colored folders?

by jmite on: Dec 26 2008

I see in the sceenshot that there are several different colors of folders here. How do I use those folders instead of the orange that's there by default, or is it not possible?

Also, on a note, in the above post, a CFL lightbulb is the curly energy efficient lightbulb, here's a picture:

Scratch that, I found on the DeviantARt page where it said instructions are included with the package. Thanks!

It seems that you are a new user of this great iconset.

Once you have downloaded the archive hydroxygen_iconset.tar.bz2, extract it wherever you want and enter to the extracted folder called hydroxygen. Inside the hydroxygen folder theres a text file called customizing-instructions and an image called customize!!!.jpg give a look at those files... ready???... OK...

Also, note that in the same folder exists an executable script called change-type.sh. This script makes all the customization work... for example if you want blue folders all you need to do is:
1) Open a terminal.
2) Go to the extracted hydroxygen folder.
3) Write in the terminal ./change-type.sh bluefolder

And that's all... Mmm... Why bluefolder? check one more time the image customize!!!.jpg... it shows all the customization options you can use with the change-type.sh script to create the iconset as you like...

By the way... do all the modifications before install the iconset... and for install it... copy the hydroxygen folder to ~/.icons or /usr/share/icons.

I hope this can help you...

 slow nautilus with hydroxygen

by opensuse on: Jan 9 2009

Score 50%

When I select the hydroxygen icons (which is one of the best set i've ever seen), nautilus loads very slow the first time after booting pc. It takes 3-4 seconds. After that nautilus respons fast as normal. When I select other iconsets this doesn't happen. So I assume this is because the hydroxygen set is too big in megabytes so it doesn't load fast?

BTW I have a fast pc with fast hardware so that's not the problem.

Nevermind, it was because I installed it in /usr/share/icons. When I install it in ~/.icons it loads faster:)

I mean a set of ıcon that works on OpenOffıce; so that the “Save” ıcon ıs the same ın OpenOffıce and gedıt. But the way the ıcon for OOo are stored are dıfferent, so ıt needs to be made.
