 AMAZING!

by kynan on: Apr 3 2008

I totally love this icon theme! sofar the best icon theme i have ever come across!

I did have 2 small icon problems (gnome-terminal and synaptic icons) were way to big in my programs menu (im using linux mint this being my mintmenu) I think that they were using the 48*48 size instead of 22*22.

I resolved by using the svg's and exporting them to the correct size placing them in the 22*22/apps/ and repackaging. and whoalah it fixed the problem.

Just letting you know so maybe you can do the same.

Thanks Kynan. Keep up the awesome work!!

Hey, if you're that awesome you should join the effort, seriously!

It'd definitely speed up the process if someone could help me get all the icons exported to the smaller sizes!

and if you want to send that package to me so I could merge it in, that would be great!

I would be glad to help!, i'm currently studying at uni fulltime but when i get spare time i'll help out :).

i noticed that alot of the same icons are copied rather than linked to the original and this greatly increases the total folder file size especially when we are dealing with svg's since most of them tend to be 20-30kbs each.

So i think i could help by making them all links. This will make downloading the theme much faster and more attractive to have as a default theme on an OS.

And then after that i could get to the exporting.

it might take me a while to get there but ill post here when i'm done and supply a download link.

Ok i have completed the linking.
The tar.gz went from 7.4mb to 6mb which is rather nice and should help speed up those downloads. :)

As for the exporting, all i have done is replace the two icons that i was having trouble with and as well the quit and control centre icons as they were a tad small and deformed in my mint menu which made it look crooked. Everything lines up and looks really good now, so i thought i'd send you a link so you can also work with the smaller filesize.

 Folder icons

I love your icon theme dude and would use it full time if it weren't for one thing, I absolutely hate the shade of blue you used for the folder icons. I prefer a darker blue myself.

 calendar-svg's

The calendar-svg files brake the calendar view in the evolution 2.22.1 in Ubuntu Hardy. Removing them, reverts to the default Tango icons and solves the issue.

 app crash

by satkata on: Apr 11 2008

Score 50%

gnome-system-monitor on Ubuntu Hardy crashes, when you try to switch in the processes tab from "my processes" to "all processes" and won't start again (some glib:file-error).

Switching to a different icon-theme solves the problem.

not quite,

there is still one calendar png file under 256/mimetypes, which causes problems with the calendar view in evolution in Ubuntu Hardy (x-office-calendar.png). I replaced it with one of the svg files, you have provided. The icon is still a little bit larger than usual, but there are at least no functional issues with evolution.

Oh yes, I have almost forgotten,

thanks for the fast response providing a new version of your great icon theme.

It is my favourite one and best till now and I will try helping (at least with bug reports) to stay so.

The package is very completely, and has nice icons.

I'm using it in XFCE, and is getting cool.

The (visible) description on the compressed files is the most and interesting difference.

Thanks a lot! o/

 Remove Icon

by chiron on: Apr 19 2008

Score 50%

I love the icon theme, It's replaced the tango icons that I've been using for a while.

I only have one issue (and its pretty minor); The add icon is a plus sign, but the remove icon is not a minus sign, its just the same as the delete icon (which, to me, makes more sense when paired with the 'new' icon). This is a bit disconcerting when using pairs of add/remove buttons and trying to find the minus sign. The metaphor is a bit confused.

In previous releases I had a minus sign. however, the icon was small and inadequate. I switched it to this symbol because it was more powerful and really conveyed the idea that you don't want whatever is selected.
