Description:

Quick Blender models of the ubuntu and debian logos on a simple black backdrop or dark wood. Two resolutions are currently available: 1280x1024 and 1920x1200.

Models created by me in Blender. Wood backdrop by zygat3r on deviantart (http://zygat3r.deviantart.com/art/Dark-Wood-58266349)

note: I lost the .blend, so no different resolutions are possible...

I'd definitely use this theme but i've made a point to only use 1920x1200 wallpapers (my native res), it'd be awesome if you released a few different versions of these (if you can) for people with different resolutions, very nice work.

Sure. It only takes my comp about 5 min to render, so any resolutions you want will be uploaded. However, I don't have any webhosting, so they will all have to be included with the one allowed download, in a tarball archive.

Hey, since 1920x1200 is widescreen(ish), do you want the ubuntu logo in the center, or off to the right? I'll post both right now, but I'm running out of space (750Kb max), so one of them will have to go.

Thanks,
Malaz.

Thanks a lot! I like the one you did (with the logo centered) just fine, if i still had hosting i'd donate some bandwidth, but alas... lol. Anyways great work.

This is VERY nice. Initially I was thinking GIMP or Photoshop. Then read that this was done in Blender! All the more impressive. Great job.

Actually, stuff like this is really easy to do in Blender, especially with the right materials. I'm no GIMP savant, but I think it would be quite difficult to do something like this in 2D. If you're interested in the greatness that is Blender: http://www.blender.org/download/get-blender/

Thanks to Paratron for the Ice material. It is awesome. http://www.blender-materials.org/index.php?p=5&id=32
