Wallpaper clock simply puts the file ~/wallpaper.png in your home directory and configures Gnome to use it as background. You can do the latter with xfce4's background settings too, but unfortunately, xfce4 doesn't re-read its background file periodically. Thus, you see the same time on a wallpaper clock with xfce4 all the time. If you know, how to get xfce4 to re-read its background settings periodically, we have a solution.

WallpaperClock isn't synchronized with my clock applet. It's a bug or i messed up something?

First of all im sorry for my english, but i do my best to understand what i mean ;)
Hmm, its not synchronized 'with sconds'.
I mean that time on Wallpaper are changing few seconds later then in clock applet. Sometime it's ~15, other time its ~30 senconds. I think that when Wallpaper is load for e.g. 11:11:11 its 11 seconds later. When it load 11:11:30 its 30 seconds later.
I dont know if it's a bug or i do something wrong. I hope You understand what i try to wrote ;)

well unfortunatly its neither a bug or something you did wrong , making it work stresses the cpu a bit when it updates so i decided to update it only every 60 seconds... sorry but i cant do anything about that

 Neat idea

If most Gnome developers are researching to get a good looking "desktop", whatever it is, this idea must be thought as a default into the next Major Gnome Release.

The integration of clock/wallpaper looks pretty neat.

I don't use a "desktop actually". I use http://xmonad.org but thank your sharing.

Keep up your good work.

Refuse, criticize, create, upload, enjoy.
And remember Gnome-Look.org uses broken BBCODES

Same for me, I wonder why...
However you can hide it :
create a file named ".hidden" and inside, write "wallpaper.png" (without ""). Refresh your folder and... there you are :)
