Thanks for the comment :)
Yeah I'm still working on perfecting and balancing all the colors I find it depends on the screen how they are perceived. And with the 12.04 work out of the way There should be a new release with a redesign in colors to hopefully make it as good as we can in a mouth or two.

Wow great howto for debian! Thanks for sharing it! :)

I will defiantly look into getting that icon replaced with a more generic one perhaps a "check" or something.

The Synaptic icon I changed was in the 2nd column (From the Ubuntu orange logo back to the Debian Swirl) that shows a package is supported by the distribution:

http://postimage.org/image/3obmx733f/

If non Ubuntu users run the commands I used it will change the icon to their distribution default.

 Battery Icon in Xfce

by dbw on: Jun 8 2012

Score 50%

Hi,
thanks for this nice icon theme, one of the best I could find, and also for Ambiance Colors.

Unfortunately, I've got a problem with the battery icon on Xfce (Xubuntu 12.04), it is shifted a bit down. (see the screenshot: http://tinypic.com/r/15oihdk/6) Do you know what the problem is and how I can fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Hey, Thanks for the kind words and for reporting that issue.

I will try to get that fixed on version 12.04.1
If you change the icon theme to "Ubuntu Mono Dark" Do you see that issue in the stock icon theme? If so this may be issue with the icon but I'm sure it can be fixed.

Thanks, Glad you like it! :)

Thats a good suggestion. PDF icons have historically been Red. But that may look cool. I will try it out to see how they look.

 Close Window Button Color

 by 513G3 on: Jul 21 2012

Score 50%

In Ubuntu 12.04, this theme does not appear to change the 'X' in the Ambiance Window theme for closing windows (like in its screenshots). This happens in two instances: normal windows like gnome-terminal and maximized windows.

Using gsettings and dconf-editor, I cannot make it change from orange.

Please help?

Other than that, I love the package and effort. Thank you.

I just noticed that the ambiance-colors package and the radiance-colors package fixes this for un-maximized windows. Sorry... I saw the screenshot and did not read closely.

However, those packages don't affect the Ubuntu orange window close 'X' for maximized windows. I'll post this on the correct place on the developer's website.

[sheepish]

No worries thanks for reporting that. Thats a upstream issue I believe. the button in literally hard-coded into unity :(

I hope they allow it to be changed down the road. because I know a lot of themes that would like to (Including this one)

Your right that issue is actually related to the GTK + Metacity/Unity Theme not the icon theme. There should be an option to override the close button with one of your own.
