Description:

Gnome-Cupertino and Gnome-Cupertino-Mint for Gnome 3.6.x

The upgrade to 2.x (and name change) is a bit drastic, and it is because I had to practically the theme from scratch and make a decision to keep only one of the previous two L and SL. Another reason for name change is because the theme does not use the adwaita-engine over several versions.

Version for unity due to global-menu

* IMPORTANT *
- GTK3 theme: unico-engine is no longer necessary for the theme
- GTK2 theme: uses gtk2-engines-murrine and gtk2-engines-pixbuf
- Ubuntu 12.10 comes by default with gnome 3.6 and nautilus-3.4 (though you can upgrade to nautilus-3.6), but if you have nautilus-3.4, you must set the theme for nautilus-3.4, as explained in the readme.txt

- Inside the theme folder there is a readme.txt file with some really simple instructions (styles for nautilus, 4 tab styles, glassy buttons, Unity top panel white mac style, some fix)

Hope you like it for everyday use.

I recommend this fantastic icon themes:

or

if you use Chrome, for the scroll bars

 Graphite theme?

 by KingSphinx on: Mar 5 2012

Score 50%

Love this theme! Adwaita-Cupertino Lion is probably the best and most complete OS X-like theme for Linux right now. I do have a question though: any plans to make a "graphite" version of this theme? I love the current one, but I just feel that having a graphite variant would make it feel complete.

 change color of the unity top bar font

 by freijon on: Mar 15 2012

Score 50%

I'm desperately trying to change the font color in the unity top panel. I tried editing the gtkrc and gtk.css files and tried like every text option with #ffffff, but nothing seems to have an effect on the font color of the unity panel. Does anyone know how to change this?

edit unity.css and search

. unity-panel.menubar,
. unity-panel. menubar {
color: # 000000;
}

 Like the updates!

Been using this theme since January and have been a big fan of your Cupertino theme. It really makes Ubuntu look very clean and has a feel of Mac as well. :)

One of the things that didn't seem to get updated is the Unity Menubar (The top bar). I use this theme without transparency but the bar looks solid and doesn't have that gradient look that other themes have. Is that planned in the future?

Overall I like it. Updates are always good but only if you have the time to work on it :)

from version 1.4 (2012-03-20) you can do:
edit (gedit) the file ../Adwaita Cupertino L Unity/gtk-3.0/gtk.css

Go to the line where it says
@import url("unity.css");

and replace it with
@import url("unity-white.css");

white gradient mac style without transparency

I hope you like :)

I'm very satisfied by your work! :)

Really this theme makes Ubuntu look very fresh and clean. I will look forward in using this theme for Ubuntu 12.04 because that Ambiance theme is not that attractive lol :D

This theme is my favourite, good job!

Can you please fix the checkboxes in Netbeans? They don't seem to appear at all.

I am testing with Netbeans v7.1.1 and apparently is correct (as far as possible in a java app).

two things,
- What version of Netbeans do you use?
- You can make a screenshot?

screenshot (opensuse 12.1 and netbeans today)
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B6hGQWTkhf-0VzRpRFg5NWVTSC1CaGUxenl0TTRfQQ

in other gtk2 apps look good?, checkbox and radiobutton are the files .png and .svg inside the folder
"./gtk-2.0/assets"
and
"./gtk-3.0/assets"
of the theme. You can view these files correctly with any image viewer?

I'm actually a little confused about what is happening

Hello,

I can see the images correctly... It never happens on other GTK applications...

I also can reproduce this issue on my home computer.

On both computers I have Ubuntu 11.10, upgraded from 11.04...

Thank you!

I keep testing netbeans, I installed in Ubuntu 11.10 and again displayed correctly the check-radio-button.

If I can not reproduce your problem, is hard to bring you some solution, sorry

 Updates, Yay!

Updates, YAY :)

Thanks for keeping this alive, its so polished that I can't work without it any more. Other themes pale compared to this.

Now the only thing stopping you from world domination is compatibility with the upcoming Gnome 3.4 ;)

Keep up the amazing work, and, by the way, if you accept donations I'll gladly throw 5 quid at it.

Thank you for your words, are a real compensation for all hours spent on this theme.

And ... do not worry, sooner or later, this theme will work in gnome 3.4 ;)
