Description:

Linux Mint 13 'Maya' now supplies an older version of this theme in the official repository as part of the mint-themes package, however, that version is somewhat behind recent updates to the Zukitwo themes, and has also had the dark GTK3 colour map file (gtk-dark.css) removed. This version brings it up-to-date with the current version of Zukitwo, plus restores gtk-dark.css so applications that prefer to use the dark colour map (eg. Totem, Eye of GNOME) can.

NOTE: The GTK3 and GNOME Shell themes require GNOME/GTK 3.4 and Unico 1.0.2 to work correctly. These themes will not work correctly with GNOME/GTK 3.6 and will not be updated to work with them, due to GTK 3.6 requiring image assets for styling many elements.

My immediate reaction to the default LM12 environment was "why isn't there more green?" -- so I agree that it was what needed doing. :-)

There was that, and also bringing it up-to-date with the latest version of Zukitwo (the theme it's derived from), and applying fixes that I came across during tinkering with and fixing my other themes...

All in all it's not really that bad a theme.

Hi and thank you for this great theme. I want to ask you a small request. I use it in unity 2d and the panel has a dark color. Can you tell me how can i modify it to make it light?

I don't actually use Unity at all so I wouldn't begin to have a clue how to change anything related to it. I strictly use the GNOME 3 Shell and the work I've done on the theme is geared toward making it work nicely with the GNOME 3 Shell. Any work done for Unity was done by the creator of the theme(s) this one is derived from, perhaps you would be better off asking him about it?

Here's the link to the theme(s) this one is derived from: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Zukitwo?content=140562

PM me if you do not get a response from him or if you need further assistance, I might be able to look into it at some point and try to help you out.

Thank you for the wonderful theme :-)
I am having a small problem. The application icons in Overwiew > Applications become all jumbled up. Is there any setting I can change to modify that please?

PS: Using ArchLinux x86_64.

Unfortunately the OS I'm using doesn't currently have GNOME Shell 3.4 available to update to yet, so the Shell theme has yet to be updated to be GNOME Shell 3.4 compatible. The theme this one is derived from (Zukitwo) has been updated, though, but since the updates break the theme's appearance on GNOME Shell 3.2 I have postponed updating my themes' Shell themes.

Once Debian has GNOME Shell 3.4 in its repos I'll make the necessary updates to the Shell themes, and the issue should go away, but in the interim, I might recommend you use the Zukitwo Shell theme. (You'll won't have the additions and modifications I made but at least the general appearance will still fit and it'll be 3.4 compatible.)

Thanks a lot for the speedy reply :D
Well I have shifted to your Zukitwo-Colors Theme (it matches nicely with the Shiki-Wise Icon Themes) and the issue has gone. I'll wait for the update to 3.4.
One other minor thing please... how can i increase teh icon size in Overview > Applications?

At line 834 you should find the start of the section that defines the appearance of the applications overview. Changing the icon-size at line 847 will change the size of the icons, though you may also need to change the -shell-grid-item-size at line 838 to accommodate the larger icons.

I personally changed the icon-size back to 96px and the -shell-grid-item-size to 118px in my personal copy of the themes, matching the default Shell theme's sizes, but you're free to alter those to whatever you like.
