 Overview text color

Excelent theme, but how can I change overview red text color to black or white?

I love this theme but I don't like that red color text. I opened every css file under .themes/Faience/gnome-shell but I wasn't able to find it...

Thanks in advance.

The problem might be caused by the 'Native window placement' extension, you should uninstall it and then reload the theme.

 Panel translucency and search box

Why did you turn off the panel's beautiful slight translucency in the latest version? :-(

And on my system at 1366x768 with 10pt Cantarell at default 1.0 scaling factor the text in the "Type to search..." box in the overview is clipped vertically so that the letter 'y' in "Type" has its tail clipped and looks like a 'v'. Can you correct this?

Because it's either translucency or rounded panel corners.

+1 for rounded corners, btw.

Hmm.... I did not know that you cannot have both at the same time.

Well, basically you can, but it looks ugly with maximized windows. Fake transparency would help, I guess...

I adapted the panel code to make the panel translucent as well as rounded, and there are no issues with any windows, maximised or not. The panel can be very easily made translucent as well as rounded at the same time, no problem at all, and it looks great.

The comments above are right. Plus, with opaque panel, there no problem with global menu.
Anyway, Faience is a WIP so it is subject to many changes from one version to another. Perhaps, panel transluency will be back in the future.

Great changes you did there in 0.3 - especially the invert-rounded panel, love it!

Keep the awesome work coming! :D

 Change Icon Size

Great theme!

I was wondering if there is a way to change the size of the icons in the 'Activities Tab'?

I tried editing the /usr/share/gnome-shell/theme/gnome-shell.css file, but was unsuccessful. I tried to change the lines:

.icon-grid {
spacing: 36px;
-shell-grid-item-size: 118px;
}

.icon-grid .overview-icon {
icon-size: 96px;
}

but nothing happened.

after the change, save, and alt+f2 enter 'r' and then enter again. voila'

 Feedback

I love this theme, and still think it's the best shell theme around, but I much much MUCH prefer 0.1's representation of Windows/Applications - that highlighted the current selection, now 0.3 *de*highlights the current selection, and is just confusing - not exactly Gnome-esque.

Fonts: I think, need to be generally 9px not 10px.

When icons are represented in the dash they look far better smaller - especially with Faience/Faenza.

And I much preferred the panel with semi-transparency you had in 0.1 rather than rounded corners.

Just trying to give useful feedback! (Yes, I've hacked my own version.)

 app-filter padding

Good theme, but I think

.app-filter {
padding: 8px 8px;

looks better.
