 Emerald Buttons Off Sometimes

I'm not sure why (cannot figure it out) but sometimes the mouse hover action doesn't line up with my mouse. It's also inconsistent from window to window. Any suggestions?

I don't have a clue, unless it's taxing your CPU or video memory.

I think it may have something to do with my particular emerald install. I'm running it on Ubuntu 11.04 and had to compile it from source to get it working. Since my comment above, I've tried a few other emerald themes and had similar issues. I'm sure it's not the fault of your theme but I'm still unable to determine the exact cause.

Thanks for your reply.

Apparently, it's a known issue with emerald and 11.04. There are fixes, but some issues haven't been resolved.

Couldn't get Emerald working in Mint 11, either. Had to downgrade Compiz.

 wm + icons

Hi Obscurant,
thank you for die hard.
It globally works (xubuntu 11.04), but...

How do you get such split bar on the left of each window ? I have no wm theme called "die hard".

And what about the icon theme ?

Thank you in advance :-)

I'm using Emerald with this theme:

http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=143441

To get Emerald working in 11.04, you might need to use this:

http://www.webupd8.org/2011/05/get-emerald-to-work-in-ubuntu-1104.html

Icon theme is Candy.

Thanks
But I'm using XFCE. Do you think it is possible to obtain something with xfwm4, about this orange bar - when I learn how to create a theme :D ?

You can run emerald on xfce, but you'd have to install compiz, apparently. That's a lot of overhead just to use a WM.

http://www.ghacks.net/2010/07/11/run-compiz-with-xfce4/

I'll try and port the theme to xfwm4 and see what happens.

You mean, to change all of the orange elements in the theme to a different color? It would have to be done in a graphics software, but it would be pretty easy.

 GTK3

This theme is awesome. Any plans to make a GTK3 compatible version of it? Everything seems to be making the switch to GTK3 these days.

Thanks. I'm porting it to Gtk3 at the moment. Was done, but there was a lot of changes in Gtk 3.6 that made previous themes incompatible, so I had to start over.
