Submitted:  Mar 18 2011
Updated:  Mar 23 2011

Description:

A small port of Bluebird xfwm4 theme (developed by Shimmer project http://shimmerproject.org/projects/bluebird/).

Requirements: metacity >= 2.18 (i.e. any GNOME release during the last 3 years)

Installation
Download the archive and unpack its contents into ~/.themes/

If you want to download the matching Gtk+ theme, unpack the latest Bluebird-x-y-z.tar.gz archive from https://github.com/shimmerproject/Bluebird/tree/master/releases (e.g. https://github.com/shimmerproject/Bluebird/blob/5e726e8d3a70914f82fb936de8e654f4ec7534de/releases/Bluebird-0.3.2.tar.gz?raw=true) and unpack gtk-2.0 folder into ~/.themes/Bluebird/

Tweaking the theme
* Open file Bluebird/metacity-1/metacity-theme-2.xml (please, do not open metacity-theme-1.xml, it is a placeholder file) with any text editor (e.g. Gedit).
* Change the values of constants at the beginning of the file.
* At present you can change:
* border colors;
* specify, whether the title is centered or left-aligned.
* You can also make the borders around dialog windows to be the same width as the borders around normal windows (i.e. 2px instead of 1px). In order to do this, please go to the end of metacity-theme-2.xml and follow the comment.

Changelog:

* Version 0.6: added parameters for easy tweaking the theme
* Version 0.5: initial release

The link on the page is the latest version of theme. What steps exactly did you perform before the error?

I do the following step:
1. I download with default downloader firefox, the size is mismatch. so downloader stop downloading this file

2. Then I try downthemall to download, but still failed.

3. The last, I try using wget, but appear error certificate error. I have try to avoid check certificate, but after I finished downloading this file, archiver can't extract.

or the master file corrupt at server?

 Tarballs don't work

I can't get the entire bluebird tarball to transfer - only about 60% will come through whether using FF4, wget or aria2. Needed to do a git checkout to get it. Nice theme though.

Thank you :-)

Panel font color: open file gtk-2.0/panel.rc from Bluebird gtk package in any text editor.

There are several lines in it, which are setting the color of the font:

fg[NORMAL] = ...
fg[ACTIVE] = ...
fg[PRELIGHT] = ...
text[NORMAL] = ...
text[PRELIGHT] = ...
text[ACTIVE] = ...

Replace the right part of that lines with the color you like (e.g. "#ff0000" for bright red).

Please note, that you should not modify bg[...] lines, as these are responsible for background color. Also note, that text color is set in several places, you must replace it in all of them.
