damn...

Could I be a simpleton and ask you to provide the code to start this?

and how about a short instruction for those of us "new" to conky.

Such as,
Place conky.lua in "this folder",
place .png "here", etc?

I use conky, and have the conky orange (found on gnome-look) running,
but im unsure as to how exactly to get this one going.

any help would be appreciated. <3 thanks

Open synaptic and install "Conky", "Conky Al" and "Conky CLI"

in your home folder, create a new folder: ". Conky" (a point ahead of Conky) and inserted into. "png" image.
again in your home folder create a new folder. "lua" (a point ahead lua) and in it the folder "scripts" and inserted into the "clock_rings.lua"

open terminal and type: "gedit. conkyrc"
Enter
and write down your password
when opened. conkyrc delete everything from it and put the contents of the new conkyrc.
change the line: "${font caviar dreams:size=12}${color FFFFFF}${alignr}${weather http://weather.noaa.gov/pub/data/observations/metar/stations/ LQBK"

LQBK my city, find the code for your city: http://weather.noaa.gov

save.

open terminal and type: Conky
Enter

PS, sorry, my English is bad :)

After reading your comments, I suppose that you're using Ubuntu or Linux Mint. Here is the simpler way to use conky:

- Open the terminal, type this command: " sudo apt-get install conky-all"

- Download the conky setups, name it whatever and save it wherever you want.

- After that, to run the conky file, open the terminal ( or Alt + F2) and type " conky -c /path/to/the/file/nameofthefile". Then the conky window(s) will appear.

- You also need to install extra fonts that are used in the conky files. You need to open the file to see what fonts you need to install.

Fantastic! But in Fedora we have:

$ cat /etc/issue.net
Fedora release 14 (Laughlin)
Kernel \r on an \m (\l)

so you should use something like this:

$ cat /etc/issue.net | head -n 1
Fedora release 14 (Laughlin)

Also the temperature is not shown, using locid SBSJ. It shows:

${weather} °C

and I don't know how to workaround that.

Cheers,
Germán.

open conkyrc,
find:
${font caviar dreams:size=12}${color FFFFFF}${alignr}${weather http://weather.noaa.gov/pub/data/observations/metar/stations/ LQBK temperature temperature 30} °C${font}

"LQBK" my city, go to:
http://weather.noaa.gov/
and find Your City, and replacing "LQBK" in conkyrc
