Description:

Vector icon theme for GTK. It can be used with XFce or GNOME. (I added logos for Ubuntu. Xubuntu, Kubuntu, Debian, SUSE, Fedora, Gentoo, Arch, Zenwalk, Mndriva and Mint)

I put all files into git repository on github https://github.com/jcubic/Clarity All errors and missing icons you can submit as issues there.

There are seven predefined themes (in five color schemes)

caeruleus - blue gradient
lux_caeruleus - glossy variant
canus - grey gradient(default)
dark_canus - dark grey gradient (for light themes)
luteus - orange gradient
violaceus - violet/pink gradient
lux_violaceus - glossy variant
viridis - green gradient

To install copy Clarity folder to ~/.icons

You can now use PPA to install clarity icons
 $ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:jcubic/jcubicppa && sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install clarity-icon-theme

To change color theme of icons:
  1. open folder ~/.icons/Clarity
2. double click change-theme
3. select the theme and click ok

If you install from PPA repository or deb package:
 $ gksu change-theme

or from terminal:
 $ cd ~/.icons/Clarity
$ make (name of the theme)

If you install from PPA repository or deb package:
 $ cd /usr/share/icons/Clarity
$ sudo make (name of the theme)

To change distributor logo

 $ cd ~/.icons/Clarity
$ make fedora

(available logos are: arch, debian, fedora, gentoo, gnome, kubuntu, madriva, mint, suse, ubuntu, xfce, xubuntu and zenwalk)

If you install from PPA repository or deb package:
 $ cd /usr/share/icons/Clarity
$ sudo make fedora

FURTHER CUSTOMIZATION

You can create your own colors for icons
by modifying or creating new template which is SVG file.

After creating new template in src/template_your_name.svg just double click change-theme and select your theme. (if you want to use make you must run configure first)

NOTE: You must have installed zenity, change-theme depend on it

 Corrupted icon

 by Myrkhaal on: Jul 5 2011

Excellent icon set I've but using for quite a while, but only now have I run into a problem. Specifically with the icon nm-device-wwan (which is a symlink to nm-signal-100.)
nm-applet crashes with an error that the icon in question is of an unrecognized image file type. The symlink itself works just fine and I can open the svg file with any image viewer or editor, but neither nautilus or nm-applet seem to be able to either open it or preview it.
This only started happening after running a few updates on my Gentoo system, but I've checked that all necessary libraries to display .svg files are in place. I even tried to reinstall and downgrade them just to be sure.
At first I thought it might be a permission error, but chmodding the file and symlink yield no results. Has the icon, or its' belonging metadata simply become corrupted somehow?
I have tried downloading it again and also running the color changing script but it didn't help...
Thanks for you input on this.

Did you try to copy that icon and replace symlink?

rm scalable/status/nm-device-wwan.svg
cp -f scalable/status/nm-signal-100.svg scalable/status/nm-device-wwan.svg

Are other symlinks works?

I have similar problem too. My nm-signal-100.svg appears as no entry sign when in use. It doesn't have thumbnail in nautilus although it appears fine in eog. There are also other icons which doesn't have thumbnail.

There was a bug in build script I think I fix it. Can you try it now (in version 0.3.1).

If you still have those issue, can you tell me what Distribution are you using?

 Great work ...

I see you let working on it. Isn t it? Sad, because with some more improvements you get a much better Theme.

1. the links do not work (Forbidden)

2. wlan 100% is broken

3. Folders, Trash, Network and maybe some more what you see bad in 16x16 you can make a fixed size.. not scalable. Draw them in 16x16 in Inkscabe. I see you have many different folders... so do a selective of the most important. For example what you see in Nautilus Sidebar.

Hope you will have time and lust for touch your Theme again. Great artist work. Thanks for share.

I've created 16x16 pixel icons using ImageMagic in build script.

There also was a bug in build scrips. I think I fix it.
