************************************************

Before asking, if you have any problem, run at least once the customization script, and TAKE A LOOK AT THE README FILE!!!

************************************************

QUICK INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS -> You can choose between:

PPA modality:
1 Type in a terminal window:
* sudo add-apt-repository ppa:alecive/antigone
* sudo apt-get update
* sudo apt-get install awoken-icon-theme
* awoken-icon-theme-customization
2 Follow Instructions

WARNING: with ppa subscription you can always get the newest version on your machine. But to see the improvements, you have to configure (or re-configure) at least once the iconset either for clear version, or dark version, or even a colored one.

DeviantArt download modality:
1 Download the archive from dA page (clicking on the download button in this page). If you want to contribute to this project, click the "Donate" button and you'll give access to direct download.
2 Extract the archive, enter in the directory called AwOken-2.5, and extract also those three archives.
3 Move the folders called AwOken, AwOkenWhite and AwOkenDark in your .icons folder
4 Type in a terminal window:
* cd .icons
* sudo cp -p AwOken/awoken-icon-theme-customization /usr/bin
* sudo cp -p AwOken/awoken-icon-theme-customization-clear /usr/bin
* sudo cp -p AwOkenDark/awoken-icon-theme-customization-dark /usr/bin
* sudo cp -p AwOkenWhite/awoken-icon-theme-customization-white /usr/bin
* awoken-icon-theme-customization
5 Follow Instructions

RECOMMENDED PACKAGES

************************************************

getting this error when running script.
Customize Clear version
/usr/bin/awoken-icon-theme-customization: line 169: [: too many arguments
It seems that there isn't any customization file for the colored iconset located in /home/louis/.icons/zenity; RGBA=on
Customize Clear version/.

Could you please tell me what you exactly were doing and post the whole terminal output?

PS: did you install them using ppa or deviantart download?

that was the entire terminal output. I installed them using deviantart. This was in SolusOS beta 1.2 which is Ubuntu/Debian based and it's actually the only distro I've ever had a problem with and I have 27 Linux flavors. :D

before I get in trouble with the SolusOS guy, it's Debian based not Ubuntu. I assume the problem has something to do with Solus because I just updated a few distros I have and had no issue with the 2.4 update.

I actually think the same. The error you posted seems related to a zenity bug rather than a bug in the iconset. A couple of questions though:

1. what did you do when you got that error?
2. what version of gnome does solusos ship? gnome2 or gnome3?

I just ran awoken-icon-theme-customization then clicked on customize clear version. it ships with gnome2. I really think it's a distro problem. I just updated a couple other with no problems. if I run into a problem with a different distro I will post. thanks. :)

okay, I have a different error message now...

SUCCESS! Zenity was found.

progname=zenity; RGBA=on
Installation directory -> /home/louis/.icons/AwOken
Installation modality -> DA_download
*************************************************************************
Now I'll search if there are already colored iconsets in your /home/louis/.icons directory.
I found these:
You chose:
progname=zenity; RGBA=on
Customize Clear version
/usr/bin/awoken-icon-theme-customization: line 169: [: too many arguments
It seems that there isn't any customization file for the colored iconset located in /home/louis/.icons/zenity; RGBA=on
Customize Clear version/.

The problem is exactly the previous, ie when you launch the script, it launches zenity but zenity output is not "standard", and it's different from the output that the script expected.
For example, if I run from terminal this command (this is the command that I use to show the first window dialog):

zenity --info --title="$ICNSTG $VER Customization script" --text="***********************************************************************************************\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<b>$ICNST $VER CUSTOMIZATION SCRIPT</b>\n\nThanks for choosing $ICNST iconset, and welcome to the latest version of $ICNST customization script.\n\nSince the ever growing nature of this software, it's more than welcome any notification of any bug you will (surely) find.\nIf so, please send me a mail to <i>'alecive87@gmail.com'</i>, trying to explain briefly the problem you encountered. If necessary (as often is), be sure to attach the whole terminal output, so I can easily manage the issue.\n\n***********************************************************************************************\n\nIf you like efforts that i put in this work, or you think that I'm a nice guy, or that anyway I deserve a contribution, please consider a small donation (1$ goes a long way) via PayPal to <i>'alecive87@gmail.com'</i>.\n\n***********************************************************************************************\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Click the Close button to continue."

and then I click on the "close" button, the terminal output returns nothing. If you do the same, the terminal output is instead different (and I think is something like this -> "progname=zenity; RGBA=on"). So the script can't run correctly since it cannot parse properly zenity output!

The only thing you can do for now is to run the script without the GUI. But to do this you can either hard-code the customization script (but I think this could be both overwhelming and dangerous), or you remove zenity from /usr/bin (so the script can run without it).

Maybe from next version I'll add a flag to handle this thing, but for now this is the only solution.

smiles. thank you. I moved zenity out of /usr/bin temporarily, ran the script xhoosing "run in terminal, chose my settings, worked like a charm. thanks for your help.

one other thing I might mention is the current 2.4 version's folder for "Pictures" is always color even if you chose "no color".

thanks again for the help. :)

The color/no color options unfortunately doesn't manage all the icons (even if it handle most of them). But to what folder type are you referring?

PS: do you like new awoken folders?

the folder-images.png . It's emblem is green. I just got around it by changing the folder for Pictures to folder-photos.png.

Yes, I like the new awOken icons very much. :D

SUCCESS! Zenity was found.
It seems that the set is not in a expected location (or there's a bug in the script). If you think there's a bug, please send me a mail or a message in whatever way you prefer.
I'll stop here.

Zenity opens a window where I can click "Ok" and then it stops. The set theme is located in ~/.icons. System is an Arch x86_64

did you run the script with "sudo"?

No, because I don't use sudo by default (it's not installed). I don't want to install it systemwide and I think this script should don't need any root-access.

And actually you're right man. But installing the script in .icons requires some sudo commands (as I stated in the description). Did you do them right?

Ok, I did a misstake. I forgot to extract the dark and white version. Now it works without sudo too.

 Amazing icons!!!

Your icons are wonderful, they make me feel good! Congrats :)
I'd have just a question: since on Ubuntu 11.10 with Unity interface I use the awoken dark icons, is there a way to change the icons color from black to grey (just like they appear using the awoken default icons) on unity dash? Thank you so much!

I'm sorry but this can't be done from an iconset itself. you should hardcode the icontheme (and if you want I can tell you how), but it's difficult to achieve anyway!

The best thing you can do is to decrease dash transparency so the icons should be more contrasted than the background :)

 packages for opensuse >= 11.4

If you need packages for opensuse >= 11.4 you can find them here:

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/l1zard/openSUSE_X.y. where X is the major and y is the minor release.

just add it to your repo like this:
zypper ar http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/l1zard/openSUSE_12.1/ l1ard

and do
zypper ref && zypper in AwOken

as root user.
