 This icon set ROCKS!

by amiroff on: Jun 21 2010

Wow! You've done an amazing job! Those icons look really professional and polished. Except, I prefer folder icons of Snow Sabre icon set, but that's just a personal preference. How can I mix those folder icons into your set locally?

Keep up the great work!

It's simple: you must go to the "places" folder in the snow sabre set, and copy (only the folders) in ".icons/AwOken/clear/128x128/places"!!!

PS: have you tried other folder types inside my set?

PPS: From the next release, I'll include another folder type.. stay tuned! :D

Thanks for reply. I really like folder-heart.png like folder shape type, but unfortunately there's only one of those in there and no generic icons shaped like that one.

Other than that, I sometimes notice strange behavior of some icons in some apps, especially gwibber. They appear huge. See here: http://twitpic.com/1yqk4k
Notice huge plus icon and also huge red close icon on status bar. What could be the problem?

Also, while we are at it, are you coloring some icons on purpose? See http://twitpic.com/1yqkxw

For Gwibber, It seems to be a problem of the application itself. Take a look here:
1.https://bugs.launchpad.net/gwibber/+bug/421668
2.https://bugs.launchpad.net/gwibber/+bug/407733

In the second link there is also a patch for this, and It is said that from the development release the problem was fixed..
However, if you know a way to fix this problem from my iconset, I'll be happy to implement it! :D

For the second problem, I'm sorry but I didn't understand what you mean.. My english is not very good! :(

PS: some icons (like info, application-exit, add, ..) are colored because with the color they remark their role rather than other icons..For me, this can better achieve the aim of all good iconsets, i.e. making icons clear, clean, and intuitive as possible.
Since this has caused some requests to make all the set grayish, from the next version there will be an option inside the customization script to change most icons from colored to grayed. :D

 Not working in KDE

by Wompatti on: Jun 29 2010

Great icon set. I think this, Meliae and Elementary are the three best icon sets. But please make it work in KDE also. It shouldn't be impossible, because Meliae and Elementary work too both on Gnome and KDE.

Sure!
But, could you gently explain me where and what doesn't work?
Thanks!

If I extract the icon set like it is said in the instruction file, the icon theme does not show in the KDE system settings. If I set it manually to the gtkrc-2.0 file, icons work in GTK programs.

It seems to be an empathy bug..it's strange, because with some people it happens, with others (including me) no! :(
But, since with other icon sets this not happens, I'm trying to understand what to do to make my set working well with empathy! :D
