Description:

==== THE WIN2-7 PACK IS NOT UNDER DEVELOPMENT ====

Thank you for visiting the Official homepage of the Win2-7 pack!

=== Intro: ===
Even from its start in late 2009 as an Gnome Icon pack, the Win2-7 Packs goal has not changed...To be the most comprehensive, easily installable, customizable and most user friendly Windows 7 Transformation Pack on earth for the Gnome Desktop! :D We are amazed at how close we have come! Feel free to download and install it, make sure to vote if you like it and comment if you have anything to say and even donate a few bucks! But be sure to read the FAQ first before you install. We have put in hours and hours to make the Win2-7 pack do a very careful and safe installation and uninstallation, but none the less, use at your own risk and make a backup just as you would during any major update. Anyone involved in the Win2-7 Pack Team is not liable for any dataloss or damage that is the direct or indirect result of the Win2-7 Pack.

=== Quick FAQ: ===
Q: How do I install? A: Run GUIInstall.sh.
Q: How do I uninstall? A: Run GUIUninstall.sh.
Q: What languages are there? A: English , Danish and Croatian.
Q: Is it compatible with my system? A: Check the "Compatibility Chart" under Links.
Q: How can I extract it? A. Use "Extract Here" from the context menu or run "cat Win2-7Pack*.tar.lzma | lzma -d | tar x" at a terminal.
Q: When extracting I get: "This does not look like a tar archive"? A: Remove ".tar" from the end of the filename.
Q: I want to help translate? A: Send Dart00 a Private Message with your language and personal e-mail and experience.
Q: My Panel Menu does not look like the one in the Screenshot? A: Gnomenu must be installed (using Win2-7 Essentials or some other way) and added to the panel manually.
Q: It looks like it installed correctly but does not have any of the Microsoft logos, icons, sounds, cursor...etc. A: You did not install the Win2-7 Restricted Extras in the Win2-7 Essentials options.

 Chrome bar

Hi all.

I have just installed win2 7 pack on my ubutnu 11.04. Everything works perfect except that when I maximize an then restore the google chrome window the system borders appear above chrome's ones. Changing radio button in Chrome preferences to "Use system title bar and borders" and back to "Hide system title bar and use compact borders" fixes the problem until the next maximize.

Does anyone know what to do?

Thanks in advance.

Dont open it... Click "Run in Terminal"

If its not executable just go to properties and permissions and set it to executable.

What distro are you using?
What version of GNOME?

Try opening a terminal, drag and drop the script into it and hit "Enter"...what error message does the terminal give?

If i select Run in Terminal, a terminal opens and closes imediatly on screen. If I drag the uninstall.sh in a terminal, here's what it says:

# *******************************************
# * Welcome To The Win2-7 Pack Uninstaller! *
# *******************************************

# Initializing Variables... [ OK ]
# Initializing Functions... [ OK ]
/home/livia/Desktop/Win2-7Pack_v6.8.1_Multilang_Aero/GUIUninstall.sh: line 195: syntax error near unexpected token `-n'
/home/livia/Desktop/Win2-7Pack_v6.8.1_Multilang_Aero/GUIUninstall.sh: line 195: `echo -n "# Auto Detecting Language..." | tee /tmp/status.tmp ; BUSY'

... and it shows the comand line and just stays there, nothing happens.

So, any help to uninstall this?

Hello, i love your theme and i'm using it on ubuntu 10.10.
Everything is fine, but I can not get a login screen as shown in the screenshots in the package.
My login screen's background is of Windows 7 but other things are just like ubuntu 10.10
However, in the package, i have seen login screen images which show beautiful themes.
What am i doing wrong? how can i get a screen like the ones included in the pack? (6.8.1)

I'm refering to the screenshots in the package, which are here, Win2-7----/Files/gdm/win2-7

I want to have a lohin screen like the ones shown here. What I get is the normal ubuntu login screen with just the background changed. But the ones shown in this folder have a bottom bar, the username, pwd box is also different, there's a transparent logo for ubuntu, debian, centos etc, shutdown icons etc, all are changed!

Those are preview frames for older versions of GDM, such that comes with Ubuntu 9.4. Current GDM is not themeable like that anymore. :(

Iv tried, all you can really do is change the wallpaper. The new GDM is still really new and they should be adding in better theme support soon, but may be till a few more versions before we see it. :(

Sorry for the late response, I saw your post and have been working on the problem since. Iv been very busy with school but have finally solved it.

I made 2 typos on GUIUninstall.sh and they have been fixed and pack should be updated shortly.

Until then, here is a GUIUninstall.sh patch:

Gracias amigo.

Gnomenu. :)

It installs with Win2-7 Essentials and you add it to the panel manually.
