Description:

I have an idea how terminal could help us find commands. If we type "s" window with suggestions will open and show us the most propable command, starting with letter "s", we want to use (like suggestions in google). We could put the suggestions in alphabetic order, last time used order, the most probable order or just turn it off. I dont know if this is possible or if it already exist, so if it is available anywhere please tell me.

Tell me what you think about my idea.

Great idea, actually. Should be a simple change that would drastically help several unexperienced terminal users.

Actually, this functionality is already somewhat done. If you type something into terminal and then hit tab twice it will display a list of all programs matching what you have so far. Though ajaxifying the terminal to have drop down suggestions is deffinately an interesting concept.

I think this is an excellent idea.

There have been several times that I know what the command starts with, but can't remember the rest. This would help tremendously!

I would definitely like to see this in a version of the terminal.

Dropdown menu is just a way of complicating things. It seems like a GUI way of using the terminal. GUI Terminal? No thanks.
