Doesnt seem to work for me!

Hi, looks like a great theme, but when i run the script and change the colour or gradient etc, the icons always disappear and become fully transparent leaving no visible icons no matter what colour i choose, in the colour chooser i move the slider to opaque and transparent but still no difference, am i missing something, im running a standard lucid install, no errors show up in the terminal when running the script, thanks.

Hum, sounds strange. I have encountered similar problems but not when running the script. It usually happens when there is missing/broken code in the icons.

If you could send over a copy of the theme where the icons do not work maybe I can figure it out.

When the icons is no longer working, go to /home/.icons/ in here there should be a map called ACYL_Icon_Theme_0.8.2, pack it in a tar file and upload it to a filehosting service,
http://www.filesavr.com/ for example.

Next you post the link you get here in these comments . =)

Ok, I see why the icons won't work. I have not yet figured out what is causing the problems in the code, might I ask what version of python your running? To find out run "python -V" in the terminal.

I will be very busy the next few days and might not have much time for bug searching. So please be patient with me. =)

Hi,

Same problem Here. I'm using python version:
Python 2.6.5

I tried to reinstall but nothing, the problem remains. Any idea on how to completely remove all setting? I even deleted the folder under ~/.icons/ but nothing.

PS: you should put a warning though that the gradient can cause some issues on some configurations (so other users don't end up like us)

Ok, I have python 2.6.2 so there might be a problem with the difference in versions. Could any one (or both) of you run:

python ~/.icons/ACYL_Icon_Theme_0.8.3/scalable/scripts/script_pycolor

then click ok and report back the output.

Doesnt seem to work for me

i run the command and the output is:

progname=script_pycolor; RGBA=on
/home/sean/.icons/ACYL_Icon_Theme_0.8.2/scalable/scripts/script_pycolor:12:

if colordialog.run() == gtk.RESPONSE_OK:

However your command refers to "ACYL_Icon_Theme_0.8.3" and i downloaded and have "ACYL_Icon_Theme_0.8.2"

so i had to change the command otherwise it gives me a no file or directory error

Ok, sorry for the version thingy, the next ver is 0.8.3 and it's the one I'm doing all the work in therefor the mix up.

About the output, It is what I expected and it proves that there is something that is not working in the python script. It is possible that it has to do with the new version of python.

Another question, what distro are you using?

I have set up a lucid install with all the same version number you have given and the script works just fine for me.

Can you make sure you have python-gtk2 installed. It should be by default but I'm starting to run out of ideas of what the problem could be. =/

sudo apt-get install python-gtk2
"python-gtk2 is already the newest version"
Hmm,ok, the only thing I can think of is it must be something at my end, maybe a conflict with something i have installed? Im wiping my system and repartitioning it this weekend, i will be reinstalling lucid so i will run your package on the default lucid setup before i install anything, see if it makes a difference and get back to you, thanks for your time and effort though.

 Neon filter

A great icon theme.
I added a filter that makes the icons transparent and
gives them glowing borders. You can add it if you want to:

Hi, I am glad you like the icons. =)

You have an interesting filter there, however it don't scale well to smaller icon sizes so I'm afraid I wont use it as it is now. Generally I find it hard to use the blur filter because of the scaling issue and gnome renders it strangely sometimes.

Very nice icon theme, I found it easy to customise (thanks to the script), and I've easily made it integrate seamlessly with my gtk theme.

Many thanks!

Just curious, but do you take icon requests? I'd love to have an icon for Shutter.

Yea, I take icon requests, but I don't promise anything, some program icons are harder to implement then others. =)

 Banshee

by ScarletWyvern on: Jul 6 2010

I've noticed that there's no icon for Banshee, which I love dearly.

I threw an icon I made of the same style into the folder, and it loads just fine; however, the script doesn't change its color, not that I was really expecting it to.

Would you mind incorporating the icon into the next release, or at least giving me a heads up on how I could modify the script to update the colors of my icon? This is the only icon that doesn't match, and it's frustrating!

Other than that, I really love this set!

Hi, I have now made a banshee icon and it will be in the next version of the icon theme, however it might take a while until the next release so I made a tar with the icon and the correct file structure. It can be downloaded here,

Sorry for the late reply; the Banshee icon looks great!

If I could make one more request, I'd love to see an XChat icon and/or a SMUXI icon.
