 Gnome2/Mate

by TheStarLion on: Sep 1 2011

Score 50%

I tried using the Arch PKGBUILD available in the AUR, which worked fine under Gnome2.
But I've installed the Mate Gnome2 fork since Gnome3's arrival, and it doesn't show up in there. Can we have a Mate-compatible one?
(Mate homepage for the interested - matsusoft.com.ar/redmine/projects/mate)

 problems with latest update 0.47

Score 50%

heya, love dockbarx, been using it for a long time. :)
I am on ubuntu 11.04 64 using ppa:dockbar-main/ppa

I seen updates to 0.47 in update manager a few hours ago. I updated it but now dockbarx only works as awn-applet and dockbarx preferences don't work.

in .dockbarx/logs are:

ERROR | 2011-09-19 04:42:52,048 | Traceback (most recent call last):
ERROR | 2011-09-19 04:42:52,048 | File "/usr/bin/dockx", line 34, in <module>
ERROR | 2011-09-19 04:42:52,048 | from dockbarx.theme import DockTheme
ERROR | 2011-09-19 04:42:52,049 | ImportError: cannot import name DockTheme

Oh, TBarnes has been quick in updating the ppa if it's 0.47 is out already. :)

I check the deb-file it has the correct themes.py file in it, so the problem must be elsewhere. You haven't installed DockbarX from any other source or manually lately? If you add DockbarX to a gnome panel and open the about dialog, what version does it say that you are running?

Hmm in synaptic the currently installed version says 0.47.
When i login to classic and add dockbarx applet to gnome-panel and goto about, it says DockbarX Applet 0.46.1. :s

You must have multiple versions of the dockbarx python module installed. That's usually a result of having installed DockbarX both from ppa and manaully. Search your harddrive for say dockbar.py files. The one from the ppa should be located somewhere under /usr/share/pyshared/, manually installed files is normally under /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages.

 Scrollpeak not working?

by nognal on: Sep 20 2011

Score 50%

Hi!
Thanks for Dockbarx, it is really great, the new window list theme is awesome.
There's one thing I can't seem to figure out, it is the scrollpeak feature. How do I enable it or how do I use it?
Thanks!

Scrollpeak is sadly not working with compiz 0.9.x, just as opacify doesn't work.

 Installed on Fedora 15

Thank you for your fantastic job.
I have installed Fedora 15, and it works very well.
Now look, it works well and I want to create some skins for Dockbarx.
I really like and is easy to install even on fedora and opensuse.
