 suggestion for media buttons

It would be great if you add an option to show media buttons even if windows list is disabled when there's only one window

 Dockbarx does not work

by ubuntico on: Feb 9 2011

Score 50%

Dockbarx does not work at all after the last update. I had to unistall and reinstall it completely, include the folders on /home/user/.dockbarx and usr/share/dockbarx, but after the reinstallation the dock does not work yet. All the dependencies are installed.

Any suggestion?

Ubuntu Maverick Meerkat

 Great work !!

Hey Matias,
Great work. I really love dbx now even more :) I dont use the ubuntu sound menu and with the addition of media buttons i dont even need the RB tray icon :)

one thing i miss is coverart.
I would like to see coverart in popups when the music player is minimized or closed to tray.If that is not possible changing the app icon to the cover art ala docky would be nice too.

also is there a way to change font color for badges? im using dbx with awn and the color is dark grey and barely readable. see here: http://uppix.net/9/9/e/a2e5bc62c294b310171dc07aa8716.png

There are only a few things left that would made Dbx perfect so i cant wait for the next major release of it.

keep up the good work :)

 Feature ideas

by fredsmithy on: Feb 20 2011

Great utility, thanks! Four things I'd love to see:

- recent and frequent items expanded by default (or an option for this), since they're more likely to be used than for example Launch, Unpin and Properties.
- Full duplication of the title bar right-click menu for consistency (add Move, Resize, Always On Top)
- Integration of GTK bookmarks (or the Places menu) into the context menu of the Nautilus launcher (and other file browsers using bookmarks) if its there
- integration of Ubuntu indicator menus and standard Gnome notification area menus into applications where relevant

1) Some options for recent/most used would be good, yes. Not only what you suggest but also the number of items showed.

2) I've meant to implement this for a while but I always seem to push it up since it's not a top priority. I'll try to get it done before the next version.

3) I'll look into this. What I really would like to implement though is recent/most used folders. Not that implementing one of these would exclude implementing the other.

4) Gnome notification menu integration is not possible but indicators should (more or less) be doable. I'm not going to implement it right now, though. Unity is getting launcher badges, progress bars and quick lists. Implementing these might be more consistent, cause less problems and give the same functionality.

 Shortcut to launch application

 by brx75 on: Feb 25 2011

Is there a way to have a shortcut associated to each pinned application to launch it?

Ie, my first pinned app is Firefox, and hitting Super-1 launches FF.

Thanks

I'm planning on experimenting with that. Something like what unity has. I already improved current shortcut system so that applications are selected when you lift the super button instead of after a delay. That will be included in the next release (same goes for the feature you suggest if I'm succesful with the experiments).
