really.. but still buggy. Does anybody have such bugs:
http://descent.zakadum.ru/dockbarx_041_bug.png
looks like Indicator Applet has this bug too:
http://descent.zakadum.ru/dockbarx_041_bug_2.png
but an Dockbarx it shows nearly every time user changes, or system restarts..
It's needed only to refresh to cure it, but how I can make it automatically?

I've seen similar problems on my girlfriends computer, but I don't have a solution.

Check in ~/.xsession-errors and see if you find any errors connected to dockbarx.

 Source of 0.40

Hi, I love the new release, especially the new look, but when I log in, the applet has a configuration error. Strangely I can add it to the panel manually with no problem, but it's gone when I next log in. Could you point me to the source for the previous release? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Thanks

Here it is: http://launchpad.net/dockbar/dockbarx/x.0.40/+download/dockbarx_0.40.tar.gz

But before you install it, could you check if you have any errors in ~/.xsession-errors that are connected to dockbarx?

If you find no errors it might be this old bug that's coming back to life (let's hope not!): http://launchpad.net/dockbar/dockbarx/x.0.40/+download/dockbarx_0.40.tar.gz
If that's the case, go to ~/.config/gnome-session and remove the folder "saved-session".

I checked, saw errors and deleted saved-sessions, Dockbarx 0.41 works fine now. Looks like that old bug is indeed resurrected. Thankyou for helping me!

 Nice update

Thank you very much for the update. I already really liked DockbarX but hated layout the window previews a bit. It is already a lot better now.

*thumbsup*

The only thing I hate now is the close button in the window previews. It is red and it doesn't really fit my colourscheme, I hope you make it possible for me to change the color of this (however) small button.

Anway awesome update! Windows preview is really a lot better now.

 Forgot something

oh yes. I think it would be better to make the "recent" and "most used" a kind of menu. So when you hover it it opens a menu on the right (or left) side with the "recent" or "must used" files.

Now you need to click to open it plus it then fucks up the window menu a bit (for example when the filename is long) also when you open it you get a bit disorientated because the the whole menu gets changed. A new menu on the left (or right) would therefore be better.

Thanks for pointing out the too long filenames thing, I will look that over.

Other than that, the changes are made mostly for looks but also to improve usability for touchpad users. It's easier to click open the recent menu and have it open than to navigate to the submenu and having it close if happen to move the mouse cursor diagonally.

Also notice that the recent menu is left open after you click on a filename so that you can open multiple recent or most used files more quickly.

Thanks for sharing opinions and giving improvement suggestions.

Yeah you right about what you say regarding touchpad-users. I myself have a tablet (notebook converter) but with that I have also a pen and with a hand you can't hover only with the pen.

Maybe for the disorientation it is maybe better add some animation to it. For example that when you click on "recent" that the list comes up from underneath "most used". Instead of just *BANG* here is your list kind-of-thing. Same counts for the windowspreview where a fade in/out effect could be used.

I would if I could but the codebase doesn't support it. If you look carefully you see that it's not only the one and then "*BANG*" the other. There are some tearing going on as well. Imagine that tearing constantly during animation...

With that said, it's not imposible I make some tests anyway when I get some time, but I suspect it will look much worse with animations than without. Let's hope I'm wrong.
