Install python-keybinder

It should be a dependency for dockbarx now, I'll report to reeve.

 load problem

by megadevil on: Jun 11 2010

Score 50%

I love DockbarX! Nice Work!

Since last update I have a problem. The Applet doesnt show. If I kill gnome-panel it shows again, but sometimes its necessary to kill it several times.

It would be great also to see some close button on the thumbnails and thumbnails for minimized windows.

Other problem is, when hovering over the icon of the opened window it shows the window, but moving to the thumbnail the window disapears while the mouse is on top of the window title (part of the thumbnail), showing again when the mouse is over the thumbnail.

Keep up the good work ;

 Little "Alltray" Problem

Hi,
I have a small problem with the tool alltray, which moves my applications from the panel into the tray and then is the entry away from the panel then he is normally only in the tray, but DockBarX makes the task consist only is he grayed?

Maybe you could change that because I still find DockBarX really great!

Greetings

I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understand. Could you be more detailed about how the dockbarx behaves when used with alltray? Add a screenshot if it's hard to explain.

sorry for my english im from germany;)

the Problem is that:when i open a program and would like to minimize the window of that programm into the systemtray with Alltray (screenshot arrow 2)!
then the icon from Dockbarx must disappear from the panel, but it is still there just grayed out(screenshot arrow 1)

In the normal case, it would be gone!

I hope it was understandable

Greetings

I think I understand what you mean. This can be related to this bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/dockbar/+bug/505395

If so, I'm not sure I can fix it. I'll look into it anyway.

I'm not sure though, why you would want the programs in the tray instead of having them in dockbarx.

Maybe you're right, that was always habit to slide the programs into the tray because I do not need as often but I want to let they run in background!

I thought, dockbarx should also work with alltray!
sorry I've wasted your time ;)

however great work

 Am I missing something?

 by ginjaninja405 on: Jun 14 2010

Score 50%

I installed via the Ubuntu method, it seemed pretty simple. Too simple compared to everything else. I read the instructions and did everything right up to before what it said what AWN. Nothing has happened apart from there is a "DockBarX Preferences" program in my accessories. Other than that, there is no dockbar. I'm sure this is a simple thing to fix, but I am pretty simple on Linux. Help?

From your post it's not quite certain where things has gone wrong. Did you add dockbarx to panel by right clicking on the panel and coosing add to panel and double click on dockbarx? If there are no dockbarx in the list, try alt+F2 and write

killall gnome-panel

or restart the computer and try to add dockbarx again.

I knew it would be simple :/ I just didn't know if it was independent or whether it had to be added somehow, right click and adding it to the panel worked :) thanks, and sorry for the stupid question. Lol.

 No Notifcations

 by ginjaninja405 on: Jun 15 2010

Score 50%

I've turned on my computer a few times now hoping it would change, but it would seem my notifcations simply don't work anymore. I don't get a blinking icon even though the "blinking" option selected, I tried every setting apart from "none" but it seems as though it doesn't want to work. I tried refreshing it, even still doesn't work. I never know when I've got new emesene messages, and it's not an emesene thing, I'm certain. Can somebody enlighten me?

Also, I hate to be the one to always be saying something, but it seems to not be doing it's job when showing a preview of the window if the window isn't on the current workspace, it fades all the windows to show nothing... not sure if that's a compiz thing that needs to be fixed. Cheers.

Don't apologize for reporting bugs! It's appreciated.

You use latestest versions of dockjbarx, right? I'm asking since I have fixed bugs similar the ones you describe in the past few versions.

Ha, in that case, no problem! I installed via the Ubuntu repository, I'm not sure how up-to-date it may be, but I struggle with tarballs so I went for the easier option! Is the source code and the Ubuntu repository the same?
