Do you use composition? Is libgtk2.0-0, libgx11-6 and libxcomposite1 installed?

When I have the time, sure. But right now I'm reorganizing all the code and then there is zeitgeist integration. I never touched the AWN part. Aleksey coded it for vanilla dockbar and Reeve proted it to dockbarx. So it might take some reading on my part to figure out what's needed.

ok, take your time...the important thing is that you intend to port it to awn so thank you very much...

 Nice dock

by Screatch on: May 9 2010

Score 50%

Quite good dock, i switched to it, however it would be great if you would add some effects like the KDE Smooth Tasks, have.

A nice addition would be also a timeout, before thumbnails disappearing.. for example sometimes, when i move my mouse from first thumbnail to another, i often mismove mouse and the thumbnail selection dissapears, there should be atleast 0.5 seconds until it dissapears.

Effects like smooth task isn't working very well with a theme engine where the theme makers are given the artistic freedom to make dockbarx look as they like. I haven't been able to find a way to combine a high level of customize-ability and using a lot of animations at the same time. The dockbarx effects will remain static for now.

Could you describe more in detail when you mismove the mouse? I'm not sure I get in what situation that happens.

Oh well, i guess i can live without effects.. not so important.

I tried making video of what i mean because its really hard to explain.

Watch this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/585201/out.ogv

I also noticed that my mouse cursor changes when i reach dock, is this some kind of feature?

Oh, i noticed mouse cursor changes everytime i reach gnome-panel, so this is not your docks problem... still would be nice to know what is causing this..

 Is go away

by ubuntico on: May 11 2010

Score 50%

I put some apps on Dockbarx this morning, and when i restart the PC, the dock now is completely invisible, I know this is on the panel yet because I can saw the configuration menu.
I try to uninstall completely with "aptitude" and reinstall it, but is invisible yet.
Some suggestions could be appreciated.

Best regards.

It's possible that you suffer from one of these bugs.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/dockbar/+bug/579121

https://bugs.launchpad.net/dockbar/+bug/579029

But run dockbarx in window (dockbarx run-in-window) and tell me the error messages anyway.

icons in gnome and in dockbarx

by MarioFlying on: May 19 2010

Score 50%

Hello, first, thank you for the superb applet.
I've noticed that some icons are different than what gnome uses in the alt-tab menu and in its own app bar.
So I have, let's say, the general Virtualbox icon showing in DockbarX and the specific virtual machine icon in my alt-tab menu.
So, I think that the method of grabbing the icon DockbarX is using is different from the one gnome uses.
Do you think this may change?

The idea is that dockbarx shows an icon for the application in the panel and for the windows in it's window list. Those icons aren't always the same and shouldn't be. The icon in the window list should always be the same as when alt-tabing, though.

Yeah, you're right. So, let's say I have a Chrome window with the Chrome default icon, and a GMail web-application Chrome window with its own GMail icon: I see 2 icons in the popup with the correct window icons, and the Chrome application icon in the bar.
But if I only have the GMail-app window open, I should see the GMail window icon in the bar, as I see in the gnome app selector, in the ubuntu netbook applet or in the alt-tab menu, instead of the Chrome application icon.
In case I have a single window open, I'd like to have my window icon, while In case of two or more windows, it's perfect as it alreasy is. Hope it makes sense.
