Gran trabajo, sin duda es uno de los mejores grupos de iconos disponible para GNOME.
Gracias por crearlos y ofrecerlos a toda la comunidad.

 Â¿Missed icon?

Hi again, I noted the default folder "Examples" has not a particular icon. It appears simply like a sheet of paper.

Hmm, do you mean the preview picture that you see when selecting which icon theme you want to use? Are your icons saved in /usr/share/icons or your home directory?

No, I mean the folder that contains examples of documents, videos, sounds, you know... (is in the user directory) this folder looks like a sheet of paper... just a detail.

Mauricio.

I have been doing some looking around and as far as i can tell (as strange as it is) that icon is supposed to just look like a sheet of paper. Ive checked alot of default themes like gnome, human etc as well as some of the big community themes like black-white-2-style and hydroxygen and they all have a similar style icon. I guess its just one of those strange anomalies. Id imagine in this case its just programmed by gnome to use the black document icon. Thanks again for bringing this to my attention anyway i always appreciate feedback from people, particularly constructive feedback like this =)

Best regards,

James

 Some apps don't get your icons

Hi!
I've noticed that most xfce apps don't get your icons. For example, thunar is still using the "Thunar" icon, not your "xfce-filemanager"; the same happens with mousepad, which should use your "xfce-edit" icon.
Java6 and NVidia X Server Settings have this issue too.
Could you take a look at this, please?
Thank you!

Thanks yet again Santiagoward for making me aware of those ommisions. I have now corrected the xfce based issues that you highlighted, i don't use them myself so info on such apps is invaluable. If you notice any others please let me know as id really like to cover them.

Regarding the nvidia and java problem. I have actually been aware of this issue since the very beginning of this theme. For some reason despite creating some icons for them by default they refuse to use them even (in the case of the nvidia icon) when they do recognise that the custom icon exists. I have spent along time trying to find a way around this issue but so far have not been able to come up with anything to sort this out. As far as im aware no other icon theme has been able to get them covered. I will continue to look for a solution found by some other themes and fiddle around with it myself so if you notice anything please let me know. In the mean time the only work around that i have found is to set them manually after installing the theme by changing the icon properties in System>Preferences>Main Menu. Simply have the Polar Icons 2 theme active at the time then change the icon by clicking on it and selecting properties then navigating to the relevant icon within the Polar Icons 2 folder. Both Nvidia and Java have icons in the apps folder. This should mean that now every time you have Polar Icons 2 as your icon theme those icons will be covered by the corresponding polar icon however when you have another theme active it will just use the standard one.

Hope this helps and thanks a thousand yet again =)

All the best,

James

Well, if you don't mind me making weird Xfce requests... ;)
First let me tell you the thunar and mousepad icons are working correctly :)
To complete the theme for Xfce, maybe you could link some of your icons to their xfce alternative:
*gnome-panel to xfce4-panel
*gnome-settings-default-applications to preferences-desktop-default-applications
*session-properties to xfce4-session
*evolution-calendar to xfcalendar
*system-search to catfish and xfce4-appfinder
*image-viewer to gpicview
There's one other thing, for some reason, the terminal icon isn't catching either, and I really can't figure why. On other themes (like gnome-brave) they use the same names and it works.
Well, thanks for all your effort (despite my crazy demands)
Cheers!

Ill try and get them all done ASAP and have them included in the next release. About the terminal, as for trying to fix the problem, i have the problem that mine works perfectly making it a bit tricky for me to work out whats wrong. I really don't know what to suggest, are you using Xfce rather than Gnome? Just wondering if it is a naming discrepancy between the two DE's. All i can suggest for now is that you set it manually in the main menu preferences. Hopefully someone else may have the same problem and that may point out to us where the issue lies.

Thanks again for all the suggestions ill hopefully have them done soon =)

Yes, I'm using Xfce. The weird thing about the terminal is that the .desktop file points at the "Terminal" icon, and there's a "Terminal" icon in your set. As I mentioned before, it works fine with some other themes. I'll take a look and tell you if I find anything.

Thanks i appreciate it. It actually sounds a very similar issue to the Nvidia problem, again it points to the correct icon but refuses to display it =/

First of all: Nice! All those icons are working great!

Second, I think I found the problem with the terminal. Turns out it was a naming discrepancy as you said: GNOME uses "terminal", Xfce uses "Terminal", with capital T. I made a link to a "Terminal" icon and it took it. :D

Third, I spotted some other missing icons:
* wmtweaks (it let's you configure some extra desktop options, like placement, focus or compositor; I'm thinking the "desktop-effects" icon could look nice here)
* xfce4-workspaces -> gnome-panel-workspace-switcher
* seahorse -> seahorse-preferences
* vinagre -> preferences-desktop-remote-desktop.png
* xfce4-dict -> accessories-dictionary

And these are the icons for the panel applets:
* xfce4-clock -> clock
* cpufreq-applet -> gnome-cpu-frequency-applet
* xfce-mail -> evolution-mail
* xfce4-notes-plugin -> gnome-sticky-notes-applet
* xfce4-systray -> gnome-panel-notification-area
* xfce-schedule -> evolution-calendar
* xfce4-taskbar -> gnome-panel

There are some other missing panel applet icons, but I guess there's no GNOME equivalent to link to.
Anyway, thanks again!

Im glad you managed to get to the bottom of your terminal problem, ill add a "Terminal" link to theme for future releases. Thanks for the new list ill get to work on it straight away. If you want you could still send me the apps with no obvious icons to link them too, i could always make giving them icons a slightly longer term endeavor =)

Thanks as always,

James

oh wow great well whatever takes your fancy really, basically anything you didn't make originally im sure you could create a better version for it, might as well have some fun whilst you do them so just choose some apps you like/use often or something =). Im a massive of your art so im sure whatever you make would go into the theme without a second thought on my part =)
