Description:

This is a background I created for Pidgin. I use a dark gtk theme and pidgin wasnt really blending into the whole schema of my desktop.

Credits:

I used the beautiful pidgin icons created by openartist
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Pidgin+icons+-+released?content=62169

Install Instructions and gtkrc file neatly copied from
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Pidgin+Wallpaper+with+Fedora-Logo+small?content=64877

How to install:

1. Unpack the zip-file contents to your home directory
2. Press Ctrl + h if you don't see the hidden files.
3. Open .gtkrc-2.0 file (Create one if you dont find it. Please remember its a hidden file (.))
4. Copy and Paste the below line

Quote:

include ".gtkrc-pidgin"

into the .gtkrc-2.0 file

5 restart Pidgin and you should see the new background :)

If you don't like the changes just put an # before the include line. That should invalidate the code. Restart pidgin and you are now back to normal

Changelog:

Edit:

Adjust the pidgin window to fit the background...It doesnt really look good when the background tiles. Also I dont know how to make the background scroll when your friend's list is long. :(

Edit 2.0:
Moved gtkrc to a separate file to make it easier for people to undo changes

If you've followed all the install instructions then it would work fine. May be you need to restart your pidgin for this to take effect.

No way, man! I did just what you told us - I have extracted files from archive and placed them into proper directories. Then I restarted my Pidgin 2.5.2, and nothing happened. Maybe you got a clue on what to do with it?

Unfortunately, it didn't. Maybe, that is because I running Kubuntu, not Ubuntu? I have a file named .gtkrc-2.0-kde at my home folder. I also tried to make changes there, but with no luck. It would be very pity if I won't made it work somehow...

Is there anyway to add no-repeat to the backgroud?
So if you scroll down the background wont move?
