 panel again

by omegatux on: Oct 2 2007

Score 50%

sorry, i think i wasn't specific enough. I'll try to explain my problem a bit better so I don't waste your time.
when I set the background image in the gnome-panel, it's applied only to the part of the menu button, so the orb looks like it should, but the part of the window list and notification area still has the default theme background (which is bigger than the modified one) so it looks hideous.

Can you please tell me what can I do?

Awesome Vista look for Linux. Not a fan of the Vista OS, but I can't disagree that the Vista look is an excellent job by Microsoft, so I'm glad someone did a Vista skin for GNOME. Great skin with some minor flaws, as some already mentioned, and hopefully there will be an updated version of this pack.

Thanks for your hard work on this.

How do you install this package. I am using Ubuntu 7.10 with compiz. The instruction above do not appear to work for this enviroment.

 Transparent panel

I think what makes the Vista panel look so nice is that it's half transparent. That would make it fit better to the current background and give it more pleasant colors then just black and grey.
