 Beautiful Fedoreando

by sadi on: Oct 16 2012

Score 50%

A couple of improvement suggestions:
1) Nautilus File System is displayed with a blank file icon.
2) The symbol for mounted partitions could b.e better instead of a black square
3) A folder-open / drag-accept version of the folder icon would be very nice

Muchos gracias :-)

You tell me if you like these changes ... a new icon for folder-open, traditional but with documents inside ...
Icons with blue tone in music folders, documents, downloads, etc.
An simple icon for Nautilus blue .
Icon blue for Particones mounted .
A simple icon for Ubuntu One in blue.

I use GNOME 3.2 by now .
Sadi . There may be errors if you use GNOME 3.6 .
by changes introduced in GNOME 3.6 .

It looks very nice!

It might be a personal preference of course, but I think the icon for mounted partitions might look better without the square button, only the symbol inside, probably blue?

By the way, what's the difference between Fedoreando and Fedoreando-LG?

I've just upgraded to Ubuntu 12.10 and therefore Gnome 3.6.
And now the media-eject icon for mounted partitions is being superseded by the system with a monochrome one.

The following commands create symbolic links to fix some missing icons:

#For the missing File System icon in Nautilus

sudo ln -sf /usr/share/icons/Fedoreando/scalable/devices/drive-harddisk.svg /usr/share/icons/Fedoreando/scalable/devices/drive-harddisk-system.svg

#For the missing Category icons in System Settings...

sudo ln -sf /usr/share/icons/Fedoreando/scalable/categories/preferences-desktop-personal.svg /usr/share/icons/Fedoreando/scalable/categories/preferences-desktop-personal-directory.svg
sudo ln -sf /usr/share/icons/Fedoreando/scalable/categories/redhat-accessories.svg /usr/share/icons/Fedoreando/scalable/categories/preferences-desktop-peripherals-directory.svg
sudo ln -sf /usr/share/icons/Fedoreando/scalable/categories/preferences-system.svg /usr/share/icons/Fedoreando/scalable/categories/preferences-system-directory.svg

 mime icon for deb files

by sadi on: Oct 21 2012

Score 50%

The current Fedoreando icon set includes a Linux Mint mime icon for deb files.
I used the following command to replace it with (a symbolic link to) another icon in the set, which looks more consistent (at least for my eyes ;-)

sudo ln -sf /usr/share/icons/Fedoreando/scalable/apps/system-software-installer.svg /usr/share/icons/Fedoreando/scalable/mimetypes/deb.svg
