Depends on  GNOME 3.x
Downloads:  3039
Submitted:  Oct 5 2011
Updated:  Feb 25 2012

Description:

This theme is towards showing my admiration of all time favourite \"ELEMENTARY\" theme.

The link to the primary author of the elementary shell theme for LUNA by half-left can be followed here => http://half-left.deviantart.com/art/GNOME-Shell-Elementary-Luna-251149793

here you have normal and the light variant... both for downloads but as on date it is yet to be made compatible with gnome 3.2. It works just fine for initial gnome 3 release.

I ve tried to tweak the light theme by making it a cross from this and my previous post, just to make it compatible witn 3.2

All credits to viper200 for his encouraging words in initiating me into shell theme...

thanks buddy...

hope you enjoy this.
i liked it with elementary monochrome icons and ofcourse the Zukitwo gtk3 theme (as in preview).

for those who wish to have a "Adwaita default" curved corners in the top panel, you can edit the gnome-shell.css file in the folder.
search for this
" -panel-corner-radius: 0px; "

change value for 0px by 10px. save and restart shell.
all credits to the principal authors to inspire me with their original arts.

Changelog:

25.2.2012
totally overhauled the shell theme and renamed it from "Elementary Half Viper" to "Elementary Style"

Added a cinnamon theme for the same which is compatible with the latest cinnamon 1.3.1

wallpaper in preview 1 and 3 credit goes to my good friend and guide... sakasa =>
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/3+Different+Wallpapers+5+Resolutions?content=148994

the gtk3 theme i used is Adwaita Cupertino by trastes => http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Adwaita+Cupertino?content=147061
Icon set => OSX (mac like folders for the gtk3 theme and documents and navigation buttons to match with elementary !) => http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/OSX+icon+theme+port?content=148552

23.10.2011
Changed the look and feel of the message tray, notification and pop ups from the message tray, the looking glass to look like a typical elementary theme, the scroll bar look and feel.

i hope with these modifications, i could come nearest to the looks and feel of one of the all time favourite elementary theme by the one and only Dan Rabbit !
i hope i could justify his effects of that theme in this shell!

07.11.2011
a) changed the selector for pop up from message tray to go with the popup menu.
b) improved the blurry look of the app title in top panel.
c) tweaked the paddding issued in the selector option of popup menu.
theme is perfect for font scaling factor of "1" if you use a scaling factor of "0.8" or "0.9", CHANGE IT TO "1" using gnome-tweak-tool or edit the gnome-shell.css file, search for the section .popup-menu-item:active, edit the padding-top and padding-bottom to 3px instead of 4px. The pop up will become normal for the scaling factor of 0.9 or 0.8 (i am currently using 0.9 as the scaling factor)

THIS IS A MODIFIED THEME FROM THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR HENCE I VE KEPT THE ORIGINAL FEEL INTACT TO GO WITH GNOME 3.2

Thank You again for your visit to this page.... for a Preview / Download.

havent used fedora or for that matter any rpm based distro for a long long time.
for debian / ubuntu distros, we extract the folder in ~/.themes. choose this versiaon using gnome-tweak-tool theme chooser. it must be the same for all distros.

do let me know if you cant, i ll check out with guys using fedora.

actually i dont have gnome 3.4 or 3.5 ! you are free to port it champ ! i ll have to dig into the code that defines 3.4 and 3.5 styles...
you can just open up the default shell theme css and transfer details from this one to the one you are currently using. i am sure logically speaking that should work out !

after frequent updates and no support of backward integration from old styles to new ones, i actually stopped using gnome shell and am happy with Mate/e17/fluxbox as of now. will look into that once gnomeversions become backward compatible and existing themes doesnt break!

thank you so much for your compliments, glad you liked this theme !
