Description:

it is nice that the gnome menu shows removable media in the places section.
But I realy miss the opportunity to umount media via this entry.
So, from my point of view the menu needs this litte improvement

it's a good idea, but i don't know if it will work too well. i don't think that there are ANY buttons in the menus, just clicking on the entries and bringing up side menus. maybe there should be a side menu that has unmount.

I don't think this is hard to achieve, because I guess it can be done with some little modifications in the source code of the menu. The source code of thenautilus places sidepane section, which displays removable media just need to be inserted into the relevant section of the menu source code.
This is what I'm tryin' rightnow.
