Description:

Thank you for visiting the Official homepage of the Win2-7 pack!

=== Intro: ===
Even from its start in late 2009 as an Gnome Icon pack, the Win2-7 Packs goal has not changed...To be the most comprehensive, easily installable, customizable and most user friendly Windows 7 Transformation Pack on earth for the Gnome Desktop! :D We are amazed at how close we have come! Feel free to download and install it, make sure to vote if you like it and comment if you have anything to say and even donate a few bucks! But be sure to read the FAQ first before you install. We have put in hours and hours to make the Win2-7 pack do a very careful and safe installation and uninstallation, but none the less, use at your own risk and make a backup just as you would during any major update. Anyone involved in the Win2-7 Pack Team is not liable for any dataloss or damage that is the direct or indirect result of the Win2-7 Pack.

=== Quick FAQ: ===
Q: How do I install? A: Run GUIInstall.sh.
Q: How do I uninstall? A: Run GUIUninstall.sh.
Q: What languages are there? A: English , Danish and Croatian.
Q: Is it compatible with my system? A: Check the "Compatibility Chart" under Links.
Q: How can I extract it? A. Use "Extract Here" from the context menu or run "cat Win2-7Pack*.tar.lzma | lzma -d | tar x" at a terminal.
Q: When extracting I get: "This does not look like a tar archive"? A: Remove ".tar" from the end of the filename.
Q: I want to help translate? A: Send Dart00 a Private Message with your language and personal e-mail and experience.
Q: My Panel Menu does not look like the one in the Screenshot? A: Gnomenu must be installed (using Win2-7 Essentials or some other way) and added to the panel manually.
Q: It looks like it installed correctly but does not have any of the Microsoft logos, icons, sounds, cursor...etc. A: You did not install the Win2-7 Restricted Extras in the Win2-7 Essentials options.

No, the theme is user specific and requires administrative privileges.

The only thing that may be hardware specific would be the Plymouth Theme which is Non-Nvidia (i think) and the lib-ora engine which is architecture dependent.

You best bet would be to do 2 installs with the pack installed, one on a 32-bit system and one on a 64-bit system and generate 2 different .iso's and choose not to apply the Plymouth theme.

 Why isn't ubuntu oneiric supported?

 by bluedxca93 on: Dec 27 2011

It is false that all the code needs to be changed.

Avant window navigator and Gnomenu and docbarx and the gnome 3 daemon ( the fallback seession without the panel) are enough.

I'm writng on a GTk3 Theme ,there are still some problems but it works.

Hey, thanks for your interest.

The last version of the pack is the latest, iv been busy with other programming projects.

Ill download the latest version of Ubuntu and take a few shots and seeing what works and what doesn't...If im not mistaken from what iv heard the themes do not work. If you can port them over I can make an attempt to add compatibility.

The pack also need some bug fixes that are cropping up, look like they changed something in the last version of supported Ubuntu and it doesn't always apply the themes correctly now.

Ill see what I can do for Linux Mint 12 and Ubuntu and may have a update sometime in January.

I will try to upload tomorrow some patches and other things. It is possible to load a gnome 3 session only with awn nautilus.
It is great that all these things dosn't conflict with unity.
. I try to modify an gtk3 theme to look close to the gtk2 theme , but there are still some bugs, that i cannot solve , I think there only ubuntu specific ..

sry for my bad english i am german.

 some unstable oneiric patches ?

 by bluedxca93 on: Dec 28 2011

Score 50%

downlaod it from here:

http://bluedxca93.freeunix.net/oneiricpatches.tar.gz

It might work only when the compiz plugin for ubuntu unity is disabled ( ccsm) .

The gtk3 theme is win2-7.
(in the dconf-editor /org/gnome/interface
it is possible to change the gtk theme =))

Avant-window-navigator and all the theme settings must be configured manually.
nautilus and the indicator-apmenu have to be updated.

The customized gnome-session might not be compatible with unity if you use it as the same user.
