Why does this get such a low rating? This splash screen is VERY nice!

I appreciate the strong support but considering that I posted on Sunday I'm fairly happy with the response... Course if you and your friends vote early and often I won't be disappointed :) Cheers.

I'm not an Ubuntu user, but I just had to comment and say that I think this splash is absolutely wonderful. Great job!

Hi,

I already have your Ubuntu-Smooth GDM theme installed and there's nothing in it that I don't like - it's perfect.

I like the splash screen very much too, but it would be great if you could do a version with a smaller Ubuntu logo and perhaps presented in 2D form, as the one in the GDM version. I would propably install it for many people who I help with installing and using Ubuntu.

Anyway, great work - thank's!

Sorry for the spacing between the paragraphs above. It looked OK in the preview :-/

Best alternative (to me):

1. Go to terminal and type:

gconf-editor

2. There, go to /apps/gnome-session/options/spash_image and put the path where you have saved this file (or whatever other image you might want use in the future).

Easier way:

1. Use your preferred package manager (aptitude, apt-get, Adept, Synaptic, etc.) and install gnome-splashscreen-manager

2. After installed, go to System --> Preferences --> Splash Screen
