Sonic the Hedgehog Cursor Theme

Description:

This cursor theme looks great for desktops at 1024 x 768, but if you have anything bigger, I suggest getting the LARGE cursor theme.

The "hot spot" (the part of the cursor that clicks on stuff) of these animated cursors are on the eyes of each character. If you can see two eyes, the hot spot is in-between.

NOTE: I have added some docs, one of which tells how how to modify this theme to you liking, and another one which tells you how to make X11 cursor themes out of windows .ani cursors.

TO INSTALL:
untar, de-bz2 it...
(tar jxvf sonic.tar.bz2)
as root, cp the directory and its contents to where they need to be for X11 cursor themes
(cp -rv sonic /usr/X11/lib/X11/icons/)

TO MAKE IT YOUR X11 DEFAULT THEME:
Edit the Inherits= line in /usr/X11/lib/X11/icons/default/index.theme so that it says:
Inherits=sonic
(that\'s where the file is on slackware, anyway)

TO CHOOSE THIS THEME FOR KDE:
enter kcontrol go to Peripherials -> Mouse -> Cursor Theme tab -> then select sonic as your theme.
(I think you have to run gdmsetup for gnome)

Note: Also included in this theme are some of the cursors of the "whiteglass" theme.

MD5SUM:
30ebaee85588b3b28f91a2a143457602 sonic.tar.bz2

Changelog:

Just modified windows .avi cursors into X11 cursors.

Very small. I think those cursors would look better in 48x48 or even 64x64.

Want excellent hardware recognition and an easy way to install Debian Sid? Get KANOTIX!

I'll get right on it. It will have to be in a seperate realease, though, look for Sonic Cursor Theme Large. (I still like the cursors the way they are.)
(If you looked, you can see in /usr/X11/lib/X11/icons/sonic/cursors that I included all of the origional config files and png images. All you would have to change is the part that says 32 into 64, then run $> xcursorgen amy.config amy.xcur )

Right now I'm busy writing docs to be contained in this tarball. Included will be a tutorial on how to turn windows .ani cursors into unix X11 cursors. I couldn't find any website that showed me how to do it, so I'll show you.

I found the ANY key. It's the power button.

BTW, i mean change the 32 into 64 in the character.config file, where chararcter is a sonic character in the theme

...And you'll also have to copy the newly created cursor to the correct filename, such as
$> cp sonic.xcur left_ptr
or $>cp tails.xcur left_ptr
or whoever your fav character is!
