Description:

Simple is designed and created by using the very best icons created by the open source community e.g. KDE 4 - Oxygen giving the user the most modern and visually pleasing icon theme for GNOME 2.x (Tested on Ubuntu 9.10)

Nautilus CD Burner
Nautilus Share
Brasero
F-Spot

Cpufreq-Applet

Simple Extras also includes alternative versions of folders and applications.

...icons for Gimp and Eclipse that somewhat resemble the normal icons for Gimp and Eclipse? :)

No problem. Extra icons for each of the applications will be in included in 2.1.

Reason for no updates since 2.0 is due to me being very busy with my degree and the last week I have been very ill.

 Old Icons Persistent...

by Anywhere on: Dec 1 2009

If I apply new icons from the extras package (specifically Gimp as mentioned above) it will still use the old icon if I drag from the menu to create a launcher, and in Docky. Is there a way to make it use only the icons it's supposed to?

Thanks for commenting your issue you’re having is the icon cache has not updated causing you to see the old icons.

You will need to run these commands in a terminal to make your changes take effect:

sudo gtk-update-icon-cache -f /usr/share/icons/Simple

sudo gtk-update-icon-cache -f ~/.icons/Simple

(If you get an error about the folder not existing on the second one, change .icons to icons)

These commands came from russianzilla who commented about the same issue on the last page of comments (Page 8).
Also these commands are included with the Readme in Simple Extras.

Can you associate Liferea with the "Internet News Reader" icon in the next release?
