Thanks again, but I don't know if they are ever finished. :)

Been playing with the cinnamon theme for this, making some slow progress.

 Suggestions

 by tsujan on: Jan 15 2012

Just two suggestions:

(1) To make the Nautilus separator smoother, you could add:

NautilusWindow .pane-separator,
NautilusWindow .pane-separator:prelight {
border-width: 0;
background-color: rgba(90,69,34,1.0);
}

(2) To make menubar menuitems more readable when selected, you could change the ".menubar.menuitem:prelight" block (line 560) to:

.menubar.menuitem:prelight,
.menubar .menuitem *:prelight {
[THE SAME AS BEFORE]
color: #4b3f2a; /* or any other dark color */
[THE SAME AS BEFORE]
}

You lost me a bit. Exactly which file(s) are you suggesting I edit?

Oh, sorry! I meant "gtk-widgets.css" -- the main GTK3 theme file.

lol That's what I thought but figured I'd check before taking a chance on screwing something up.

Thanks, I'm in the middle of a purple one-off theme for a friend of mine. I'll make those changes as soon as possible.

Ok, I applied the Nautilus fix, looks really good.

I'm a little confused about the second suggestion.
Before I delete entries for the .menubar I want to be certain that you're talking about the gtk for this theme. This wasn't derived from yours, it started life as Atolm I think but has been stepped on a few times since.

I'm always looking for improvements but I'll wait on your confirmation before I execute the second suggestion.

I checked the latest version of the theme and saw that when a menubar menuitem is chosen, its text isn't fully readable. Check if you see the same thing because sometimes different systems show different things. Changing the "color" value in the block ".menubar.menuitem:prelight" doesn't fix that, so I added ".menubar .menuitem *:prelight" as above AND changed the "color" value.

So, there's no deletion in my suggestion; just adding of ".menubar .menuitem *:prelight" and a change in the "color" value.

Ok, any more I pretty much do everything under Arch. The Ubuntu installation I use is Precise with a bunch of testing stuff thrown in it & does have odd display issues that come & go with updates. I applied the fix, no noticeable difference from what I can see ut if it helps on some systems I am happy to include it.

Btw, thanks for taking the time to evaluate & improve on the theme, it is really appreciated.

As one picture is worth ten thousand words, this is a screenshot (taken in VirtualBox) before that change:

And this is after it:

BTW, I'm glad to be of any help in development of good themes.

Yeah, pics are helpful.

My before & after looked like your after. ;-)

But I want it universal so glad you caught that. I'm minutes away from updating the archive on deviantART so anybody grabbing it 10 minutes from now will get the fixes.
