Description:

This is just the plain black Vista background with the windows logo replaced by Ubuntu's.

I did not create the used Ubuntu logo or the windows background.

UPDATE: Hmm i noticed some *anonymous* person complaining about the wallpaper being like vista. You may not have realized this but it's not like I'm making you download it. If you don't like it don't look at it. I know that might be a difficult concept but please do your best. (that goes for EVERYBODY)

-Thank You!

Funny how people will go on and on about crap like this, but shut their mouths and grin like idiots while corporations poison their food in the name of bigger profits, and their governments destroy the environment to give more room for those corporations to do so.

If you think Microsoft sucks, start a lobby group!

OzzyFrank, I love you (no homo)

the rest of this is directed at greyhat

Greyhat, I hate you (you're a homo)
yes, i realize how childish that was, but it felt good. :P Anyway, greyhat, I personally like the looks on peoples' faces when i open up my 7-year-old laptop and they see what seems to be vista. It's quite amusing, almost as much so as watching people like you explode over wallpaper. Keep it up! I may just make you into a sport!

douchebag...

"Greyhat, I hate you (you're a homo)"

What the fuck is this shit, and why am I the first and only to say something about this? I bet if you'd put, "you're a nigger", or "you're a jew", then everyone would be all over it but I guess homosexuals aren't human.

You're all decrying greyhat's--admittedly, risible--post but his rant is nothing compared to this tiny bit of hate-speech. Get some fucking perspective people and look at the real issues. Homophobia causes discrimination at best, and murder at worst. It is small things like this homophobic "throwaway" comment that ultimately lead to another http://www.MatthewShepard.org/

Look man,... I may agree with what you say as far as replicating vista/w$, but who exactly do you think you are? This is fucking open source for a reason. Personally I think the vista-esque styles are not very attractive, bu obviously effort went into this and other people have different taste. I don't see any of your efforts to back up your militaristic argument. Also lay off the fucking caps key, or we will be forced to go through the internet and confiscate your keyboard. Don't act like such a douche...

Get a life man.
It's a fucking wallpaper. People like you, who go nuts over stupid shit like this, should seriously be shot. Or be forced into some kind of mental rehabilitation center. Get over it, alot of people like the way vista looks, including myself. I use Linux AND Vista, although I do despise it, I'm forced to use it for programs that won't work on linux, nor work on programs like wine. Therefore, I run a dual boot.
Vista is good eye candy and nothing more, that is why people plop the ubuntu logo on it.

GET A LIFE.

P.S - Learn to speak proper english if you're gonna throw a tantrum in it, kthx :}

If you haven't noticed this whole website has logos, Vista, Mac, Ubuntu, Mandrivia, Fedora, XP etc. . . If you don't like that then find another website.

Seriously.

 Vista & others

by zethriller on: Mar 27 2008

I REALLY don't understand why people try to "clone" (even partially), themes from oser OSes (Microsoft stuff, MacOs, ...). There was a time Linux was reserved to the professionnal domain only. But now, things have changed. With some distros like Ubuntu, Mandriva, SuSE, the penguin universe open its doors to geeks like most of us are here (errr... aren't we ? ^^), or peolpe that don't want to follow the group and become what in french is called a "bĂȘte mouton". So all these word to say nowadays, having Linux installed on its machine shoud be a proof of difference, of originality, and maybe, let's say intelligence. Yeah I know poor designers or newbies artists wanna practice pressing the big-square-automatic-copy-and-paste button. Come on... everybody can do better like this ! Why install linux if it is to clone XP/Vista/MacOS's GUI ? Why have the open source community worked so hard to find ideas of some great and uncommon style if you break this by just changing the theme and pressing "OK" ? Keep it in your mind, especially for those who plan to post something here... there could have damage.

Personally I agree with your comment and thoughts, indeed I think that we should make our best to create new stuff and share.
However, despite the creations should be new why not take advantages from old good ideas, managing and making them suitable and better, even if they are not natively linux?
This is not related at this particular case but I meant in general...c'mon let's use our creativity to make something new!

hmmmm, well the vista interface does look cool, i can't lie. People who clone these interfaces want to get the awesomeness of linux and keep their favorite gui. They are just developing an open source version of a proprietary theme, isnt that what all this is about in the end? open sourcing the world?

 I Like It...

by Baphomet on: Sep 10 2008

I like it so much I'm downloading it.

And when I'm done downloading it, I'm going to send it to all my friends and ask them to use it as well.

And I'll ask them to send it to their friends so they'll use it too.

Why? Because people who post "novellas", using all caps, about something as trivial and silly as a desktop-wallpaper just piss me off.
