X11 Mouse Theme

Submitted:  May 18 2014
Updated:  Nov 1 2014

Description:

Ardoise is a simple, dark, flat and slightly translucent theme. It uses symbols instead of changing the shape of the cursor.

Available resolutions are 24, 32, 48 and 72 px.

UPDATE: An opaque variant is now available as well.

Changelog:

31/10/14 - Fixed a visual regression in Wait cursor (the axis of rotation was slightly off-center and the symbol was poorly positioned).

27/10/14 - Improved uniformity (some symbols had a different opacity)
Added Ardoise_opaque theme
Added a script to regenerate files from source

06/09/14 - slight alignment fix on up_arrow and col_resize

01/08/14 - added link to source files and reduced file size

30/07/14 - additional fixes, thanks again to dabbill

27/07/14 - fixed some legacy symlinks that were mixed up, thanks to dabbill.

25/07/14 - added ClosedHand cursor and markitos66 added legacy symlinks. The theme should now work properly on Gnome and other DEs.

18/07/14 - all cursors have been completely redrawn, keeping the original appearance but with a slight alteration to make them look better on bright backgrounds. The Wait cursor is now clockwise.

I dont know, how it work on gnome, but on kde, truly not.
We got the massage:
/ardoise2.tar.gz does not appear to be a valid cursor theme archive/
You need the following directory sructure:
->theme name /folder/
-->cursors /folder/
-->index.theme
optional /-->cursor.theme/

 Symbolic Links

It seems that some symbolic links are not included. I am running Fedora 20 Gnome3. There are some points that revert back to Adwaita theme.

Thanks for the quick fix. Much better then my hack job. It was causing gnome shell to crash when trying to drag windows to new virtual desktops due to not having the correct cursor file available.

I did just notice one thing, not sure if its something that can be fixed, and not a problem if to much work. When I re-size the panels in Hex Chat the cursor changes to the double arrow and not the double arrow with the line in the middle.

 Legacy links area missing

Right now I downloaded your mouse theme, and I have seen that all legacy symlinks are missing. Also the cursor.theme file is needed. The index.theme apparently is not totally right. You have to fix the issue, because it not working well.
If you want help, with a pleasure I can help you. Only send me a private message, and a link to the icons source, either png or svg format.

Thanks,
MarkoF
