Help Making My Theme A Theme

by teamcoltra on: Mar 12 2009

Score 50%

I finally finished a design I have been working on, but would really like to clean up the file structure a little better.

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=6884213

^ That is where I released the theme, however you can download the theme from here at:

http://www.TravisMccrea.com/DockingStation.tar.gz

Can anyone please provide to me details on how I can clean this up and make it much more installable.

 Does anyone know?

I've made a mashup of Gnome's HappyGnome-list GDM theme and Ubuntu Jaunty's default Human theme. Screenshot at: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v191/DarkN00b/Screenshots/screenshot.png

Everything works as expected and there appear to be no problems with the theme. I'm using it right now.

What I need to know is, How would Gnome or Ubuntu react if I upload it to Gnome-look? I notice that themes are copyrighted and I don't want to step on anyone's toes. I've never made or modified a theme before so I don't know what to expect. Any advice would be appreciated.

 Dual monitor login screen

How do I show a picture in the 2nd login screen when using dual monitors? I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 and in the System, Administration, Login Window menu option I can change the background colour in the 'Local' tab and this seems to be only way to change what is shown on the second monitor. The 2nd monitor just shows a plain background colour and I would like to display a picture here instead.
