 A few GTK2 questions

by weakhead on: Nov 23 2008

Hi there.
1) How can I change workspace switcher applet's roundness in GTKRC?
2) How can I change tabs height (like those tabs in Firefox)?
3) I'm using Murrine engine - is there a way to change disabled/inactive text color and ged rid of those ugly shadows?

Thanks in advance.

hello there!

i can answer you question 2):
the tabs are under "notebook"

somewhere there you could set an xy value:
#####################################################
#Notebook: How to draw the tabs, spacings, and backgrounds for notebooks.
#####################################################
style "notebook" = "default"
{ xthickness = 2 ##tab width
ythickness = 1 ##tab hight

hope this helps you.

But I am also trying to get rid of ugly white shadows, is there anybody??

Thanks!
In description of some GTK themes I see information about optional Mist engine required by it to get rid of those shadows.

I have another questions.
1) I can't find workspace switcher widget... what widget is it and how can I modify it?
2) How can I get rid of this main menu applet's arrow? Some gtk themes based on pixmap doesn't have this arrow, but again, what widget is it?
3) Is there a way to modify tray icons size trough gtk theme?

 Looking for feedback

I have been working on this theme for a day or two and personally think it is looking pretty good. I was wondering what other people thought, and what they would change. There is more information on it as well as some screen shots on my website:

 Rounded corner menu???

I want my menus have rounded corners instead of squared. How can I do that??
I've tried to edit my gtkrc file by adding : roundness=10 (or something like that) but the menus became gray and had no roundness. Can someone tell me how to figure it out?? Thanks a lot & regards.

Hi there.
Is there a way to make 2-3px horizontal line with 3 color gradient on active window in metacity theme?
Something like this: http://lassekongo83.deviantart.com/art/Muin-VS-103539809
If so, how?

 A theme please

Hi everyone!
I don't know if I should ask it here, so please don't hurt me!
I've try to do a very dark version of this theme : azel ( http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Azel?content=76898 )

But I'm begginig with gtkrc.. and the result is really ugly (only black font... but not the buttons and other things)

So I ask to everyone if somebody is interested to make a dark version of azel please?

I beg your pardon for my poor english and this question.
