GTK: How to change that color?

by ifrodo on: Oct 28 2009

Score 50%

The screenshot is made using Murrine Gow Blue, and the color I want to know how it can be modified, is the light blue with a little darker borders, that you obtain when you use CTRL + Shift + Down/Up Arrow keys in a list (tree or normal list).

It's the color which is just under the mouse pointer of the screenshot.

If someone can tell me how this can be modified in a GTK theme, I'd we grateful :)

ok, i made one, but it won't show up. is there a size limit? at first it was all over 8 mb, so i downgraded the quality of the jpgs and now it's 2.2 mb.

when i run sudo xsplash i get:

_____________________________________
*hostname*@*localhost*:~$ sudo xsplash

(xsplash:3760): GdkPixbuf-CRITICAL **: gdk_pixbuf_get_width: assertion `GDK_IS_PIXBUF (pixbuf)' failed

(xsplash:3760): GdkPixbuf-CRITICAL **: gdk_pixbuf_get_width: assertion `GDK_IS_PIXBUF (pixbuf)' failed
The program 'xsplash' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
(Details: serial 127 error_code 11 request_code 53 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

any ideas as to why it won't start up?

 Matching Theme?

by burgerearl on: Nov 22 2009

Score 50%

Hi, new Ubuntu user.

I really like the look of the default Gnome login screen in Karmic (gray with a little bit of red/brown).

I'd like to find a theme that matches that look, but unfortunately, "karmic" and "login" aren't very helpful search terms.

If anyone could help, either by pointing me towards a theme or advising on how to search better, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Right click on your desktop and go to Change desktop background and then theme > customize > controls > "Human Login" then click window boarder > "Human Login"

you can change the amount of roundness if you use a metacity-theme-2.xml file (not the standard metacity-theme-1.xml that everyone seems to use, myslef included).

using the metacity-theme-2.xml file you can then do this rounded_top_left="2" or rounded_top_left="12"

hope that helps

Can I get anyone interested in creating a 1:1 Plastik metacity theme? I think its one of the best window decorations out there and would go nicely with the nuvola theme i posted.

thanks

Great, thanks. The distribution is for netbooks, mainly with 7" screen. For more info on distro, visit http://www.leeenux-linux.com. Unfortunately, I cannot pay you since donations are going slim, but I guess there is satisfaction that it will be official artwork of distro which is downloaded 150x per day.
What I can do is add you to this list:

http://www.leeenux-linux.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=75&Itemid=71

As for design, well I'll like to let that to you, just keep in mind Leeenux logo and colors that go with it and its environment.

ps, when making background, keep in mind that it uses Ubuntu netbook launcher.

Thanks,
Aleksandar
