 Specific themes don'

I have something missing from my Ubuntu (Dapper) but don't know what it is.

Certain GTK2 themes will not load for me. Examples of the themes in question are: tigris, xenon and overglossed. I am assuming that I am missing an engine but am not sure how to find what engine a theme uses so I can install the missing beastie.

Also, the mista metacity window border will not load.

Thanks for any help you can give.

themes are driven by the so named "engines".

Install the GTK pixmap engine in whatever GNU/Linux distribution you have. That's all.

Thanks code933k

I followed your advice and installed the pixmap engine but this has not solved the problem for me.

I think my real problem is that I mess about too much without knowing what I am doing. I guess I have messed up some obscure dependency with my tinkering.

Once again thanks code933k

I need a step by step How to In setting a splash screen in UBUNTU 7.10 and PCLOS07. Themes seem to be a drop and drag affair so that was easy so far. Also does anyone know the percentage of hosing your system by installing these themes? Thanks in advance
