 Places icons in Main Menu.

Hi,

I guess this question might have been asked here a lot of times. But i am asking it one more time. I installed crashbit-ubuntu icons on my Ubuntu. It looks excellent. No doubts. But the Places Folder icons in the main menu (such as documents, music, videos) alone fallback to tango icons. This happens for many icon themes except a few. Since this is a common issue among many icon themes, i hope there is a simple workaround/fix. Please help. Thanks in advance.

GNOME FOLDER BUG: The way I fix this is ALT+F2 type in "gksu nautilus" (your password) go to /usr/share/icons hit CTRL+F, type "inode" Select all with mouse then hold down "SHIFT" and press "DELETE". If your updates install the Human or Gnome-Icon-Theme you have to repeat this step to get drag and drop back and bookmark places back.

this is because older icon themes need to have their icons renamed according to the new naming conventions otherwise gnome will not find the correct icon and resort to using that themes fallback icons instead.
try running this script on the icon theme before installing it
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Icon+Theme+Updater?content=96204
it works wonders if you follow the directions carefully.
hope that helps :)

u mean u want the cursor from world of goo to be an x11 one? (eg. someone makes it for linux)

does it give you a OAFIID:ERROR?
it's a known bug with a workaround that works sometimes but doesnt work other times. to truely fix it you'll have to wait to see if gnomenu v2.0 has a real fix.
here is the link to the workaround. i recommend reading the whole thread for other ideas.
